We came in and it was a little busy, so we expected a short wait. They seemed to be short handed, waiting on people scheduled at 11:00 (it was exactly 11:00). While we were in line a man came ismellimg strongly of smoke and the guy behind the counter said "oh there he is" as the man walked behind the counter. We ordered 3 sandwiches, the guy jumped the gun putting our oder on the grill line, so one looked like a single order. The man who had arrived started working on the grill. We were told it would be 15 min, so we walked next door while we waited. When we returned, the first 2 sandwiches were ready and I paid for all 3. Then I waited and watched. The guy on the grill finished my last sandwich and took it off the grill and set it on the table next to it, it rolled over and when he picked it up, some remained on the counter. He picked some of it up and stuffed it back in, but the ticket under the sandwich and then finished the next 2 sandwiches and placed them beside mine, but closer the the register. No one was wrapping the grill sandwiches, when the guy went to wrap them, I told him mine should be first but was closest to the grill. He did listen and wrapped it first and gave me my sandwich. While I was waiting, the guy making the cold sandwiches had a request to heat the ham for a cold sandwich, he told her they didn't normally do that but would for her (apparently there was a medical reason) He then turned and asked the guy on the grill if he could put the ham down on the empty spot, he responded very loudly and rudly that the guy should take care of his area and leave his alone. Then he said "we aren't allowed to do that anyway, corporate doesn't want us too" still in a loud rude tone with the customer standing right there. This was the first time in a while I have been there and mostly will be a long time before I go back. I have previously given this Jersey Mike’s location a 5 star top review. Sadly, today our experience was so bad that I changed my review to a 1 star.
Everyone was a trainee (all 4 of them), and no one was overseeing them. The manager was hanging out in the back with the assistant manager!!!
One trainee put the toppings on top and around the roll. Not in the sub! He said there wasn’t enough room to fit the tomatoes, lettuce and onions in the sub.
I called for the manager to fix it. She said “it’s fixed”. It wasn’t. The sub was left the way it was and squished into the bag. It was a disgusting mess.
The manager was rude and walked away, doing nothing to fix it. I had prepaid for the $19 sub!!!
Look at all the negative reviews. Horrible. Posted two pics of what we found when we unwrapped the mess.
The person cooking our big kahuna started wrapping it to go without asking what we wanted as toppings. I stopped him, asking for toppings before he wrapped it up. He seemed shocked that we wanted to add lettuce, tomatoes and onions to our sub. He then piled the tomatoes, lettuce and onions on top of the roll instead of in the sandwich. I asked him to plz put them inside the sandwich. He said there wasn’t room in the sandwich. The “manager” came over, asking what was wrong. I told her.
I then asked for them to put the toppings in a container and I’d deal with it at home. The server and manager stood in front of a counter next to the grill, instead of the normal toppings counter facing the customers. They blocked my view and handed me the sandwich wrapped and in the sub bag.
I told her I didn’t want a squished sub. She said “fine” and walked to the back, out of sight. Never came back. Didn’t refund the sub.
The cashier apologized and checked to see if she was coming back. She didn’t.
The prior manager was wonderful. We’ll go somewhere...
Read moreI am a long time Jersey Mike's customer. We use the app, I usually order ahead but we were driving by and needed lunch. Let me also say, I have worked in the fast food sandwich industry for several years myself and know what you can and cant do. We went in and stood in line being completely ignored for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes of standing their waiting for someone to acknowledge our existence, We were told to hold on by the ONLY girl working the counter. 5 men were working in the back and cooking on the grill. She then took over 1 minute and a half to stand in the middle of the work area putting on her gloves chatting. If i took that long to put on gloves, I would have been fired. The people behind us got fed up and left. She then walks to the back to touch GOD KNOWS WHAT with the gloves and yelled that people walked out. She then comes back and spends another several seconds just fiddling with the gloves to make sure they were on perfectly? Idk. we were finally so fed up from standing there way too long that we left. I was not about to allow her to handle MY food with her handling god knows what in the back after taking a decade to put them on. Again, I have been ordering for years from Jersey Mikes and even had them cater my bridesmaids lunch at our wedding in 2022. This has put me off of them. I'll go to the deli...
