My uncle has told me so much about this place so I just had to check it out for myself. I now understand what the hoopla was all about. I ordered Captain Baxter's seafood platter without any substitutions. Food tasted fresh and though deep fried had a great balance of fried and tasty. Some places ruin the food when frying but this place enhanced the food. The seafood was crispy and still had that snap to it no rubbery challenges. I was so into my platter I forgot to take a picture until it was an empty plate. So I took a picture of the steamers and after inhaling my food I had a Captain's punch that was so good I almost literally choked it down after I took a picture. The steamers were great with drawn butter. Service was good very polite and respectful. A lot for parking was available but it was so busy not many parking places were available. The experience and food were so good. I went back to baxters the very next afternoon and had the broiled seafood platter which is essentially the captain Baxter's platter just not fried. I went to take a picture of my plate and coincidentally my phone shuts off. After SMH I started my phone to see what's going because I had a decent amount of battery left. Anyway the food was just as good as the very first time. I will be back here and so should you.

I’ve been here dozens of times over the past 30 years but last night, dining with a college friend, just us, 2 women, in our 60’s was an encouraging EYE opener. First, the hostesses at the door happily greeted us and seated us without looking around to see who else was in our party, the waitress from Croacia, could not have been more accommodating, and another waitress offered to help us move our out door seats to another outdoor section. When we changed our mind neither waitress was curt with us. Both were respectful and attentive. The lobster salad sand was huge, incredibly tender, no added celery, fresh toasted roll, hot and crispy French fries, the lobster bisque and clam chowder thick without additives. The Martini was a bit weak but the Cosmo was perfect. Thank you for being a consistent cape cod favorite.

Its has been 3 years for me because of covid (not a resident of US) and yes they have done away with the counter order/seat yourself service, but you can order online and eat there, which is about the same thing as before. I hope the Baxter brothers will offer the self service option soon as it was very appreciated in the past. I have been there 3 times already and again awesome lobster roll, fried shrimp, drinks, great atmosphere, my favorite staff were still there which is a good sign that business is good in these very different economic times. The place brings back so many memories of my childhood and serves food one comes to expect each and every time. TY Baxter

Nice place to eat. I was left wanting for the service. My server took my order, and then another server did everything else as they quickly passed by and they were in such a rush that they threw my credit card into the water. Seemingly an accident, but the lack of attention to detail and slowing down withdraws my ability to rate service any higher. I’d go back, and give the staff another shot. I don’t hold grudges, but it is just what happened. The lobster roll was great! The baked Quahog wasn’t for me, but was as described and sold- so for those that enjoy them, it’s likely good. I enjoyed the atmosphere. 4 stars all around. I’d go again, next time I’m in the area.

Tonight my family came in as a very large party of 18. Rowdy, hungry and ready to drink! Lauren was our main server - she was absolutely fabulous and was so energetic!! She was polite, patient, and thorough with all of our orders. There was a slight misunderstanding that our tip was going to be split via cash, instead of put on the card. Anyone reading this - please remember how hard our servers and restaurant crews are working! For her to even think she wasn’t getting tipped is unacceptable and I/we are so sorry! Tip your servers and thank them for letting us enjoy dining in large groups again. We love the Baxter’s crew!
