This experience was dreadful, run far from this Bar Louie restaurant in the Hoffman Estates Marriott. We have been to other Bar Louie's and were excited to hear one opened near our home. The actual restaurant ambience was nice. It is brand new, nice furniture, very clean, tv's all over to watch sports. It clearly caters to the hotel, but should be a go to spot for the neighborhood if it was run properly. But the service was painfully slow, and the food was literally inedible. The kitchen messed everything up, and seems this was a problem with everyone's table, as all the server's were very frustrated with the kitchen. All of our food was made wrong and had to be redone (after waiting 45 minutes to get it in the first place). The Monterrey chicken was literally inedible, one piece was so overcooked I couldn't even cut it with a knife, the other was still pink/rubbery on the inside. And it was missing the sauce. The vegetables were like soggy noodles. The sliders were ok, nothing to write home about. Nachos - do you like stale chips and chewy pulled chicken? Restaurant may look nice, but if the food is terrible and not edible, (and WAY overpriced for what it is) it is not a restaurant worth going to. And despite all of the issues we had, not once did a manager ever come by. Probably why the kitchen is such a disaster, no management. They probably have a captive audience with hotel guests, but if you live in the area, don't bother with this place. They comped our food which is appreciated, but that was the right thing to do. There is a reason Bar Louie has filed for bankruptcy - twice. If this location is still open in 6 months,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI spent 3 nights here. The hotel is really nice in my opinion. First night was a Friday night. Ordered some alcoholic drinks that were really good. The Thai calamari & Louie burger and fries. Food was great, bartenders that night were really great. Second night. Different crew and the restaurant was pretty packed believe the Milwaukee brewers were playing the cubs to wrap up the series. So yea that was the atmosphere of that night vs Friday night super lowkey fast service. Obviously it was harder to get served that night. I got burnt tenders and the wrong food . So I had to return it immediately. Which was already after waiting an extensive time to even get water to our table. So yea took away from the experience overall. Each visit spent over 100$. Oh and I got that chocolate cake dessert, it was nasty. They had breakfast. Breakfast was good . However, we were told that breakfast came with the room. Every morning we went down for it. The morning of our departure we were met at our table (after we already began eating) how we were going to pay for the food. Nobody discussed / disclosed that you had to have a voucher or pay at the desk. We were told at check in it was covered. Obviously had to escalate it . Still felt like an explanation was not clear. I pretty much answered it myself. So the communication of the staff to customer could definitely use some work. Overall stay was good . Hotel was nice and clean. Only took pics of the good looking food from Friday night &...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI frequently stay at the Marriott in Hoffman Estates, recently in the last year they have undergone many renovations. I have stayed during the times of absolutely no amenities because the management is superb and the cleanliness of the hotel. Today I checked in or shall I say my husband Kevin did if needed to reference our reservation. I was at the bar between 8:30-11:45. Served 3 malt beverages as drinks, bar was slow and service was inconsistent. I said to the ābartender I would like anotherā it had been 25 minutes of being with an empty in front of me and had mentioned the use of a controlled substance being an influence in another staff members ability to tend bar. I was very inappropriately and rudely ācut offā toldā if I had something to say I could say it to her faceā and said I displayed signs of intoxication. I further asked what signs of intoxication as Iāve been served 3 drinks in 3 hours. Zero sign of disrespect or aggression. I previously have been the industry for 20 years being Bassett certified. I feel I was beyond mistreated and embarrassed by an employee who was under the influence and I said it like I saw it. As did the other hotel guest. I asked for my bill and she said it was put on another guests tab. Aside from conversing with the guest they had no obligation to put my tab and theirs together. Beyond unprofessional and we will not be returning to the Marriott Hoffman Estates.
