Tom's Chicken Shack — Restaurant in Bartow

If I could give this place 0 stars if I could ! The WORST customer service I have ever experienced. My order was picked up by my mother in law on her way home from work. A big order with certain dinners, well 3 out of 6 orders was wrong. No big deal, we drive all the way to bartow from winter haven to get our correct meals because what was given would not be eaten. We walked in and explained what the orders should be and what we got and the OWNER was telling us it was our fault, not just once but multiple times he claimed we ordered wrong. We ignored his awful attitude and asked to have the correct food made. We asked for a drink while we wait and he rang up the drink like we should pay for it. We said we shouldn’t pay for anything because we just had to drive so far for their mistake. He then proceeded to tell us it was a miscommunication on OUR part and said it was nothing he did wrong. He proceeded to yell across the restaurant telling us to leave. We will never be back. There’s a BIG difference in making a mistake and fixing it as an owner and making a mistake and blaming...

I am 42 years old, and a FL native, spending a great deal of time in GA and the Carolinas as a youn'g. When I travel, I look for 3 things:

Fried Chicken (not counting wings; gimme dark meat or a well fried breast please and thank you) Shrimp 'n' Grits Biscuits n gravy

I am in no way suggesting I've tried all the fried chicken in the South (I hope to accomplish this one day).

But...DAMN these dudes at Tom's can COOK SOME CHICKEN!!! My biggest complaint is that I have to drive 90min to get it, which I (hand to god) seriously consider EVERY WEEKEND.

Only reason I left 4 stars for atmosphere is because there was no shade on the patio (gotta let ya'll know somehow, right?).

Otherwise, in my experience, which encompasses no less than 120 fried chicken spots, you all got something special. Much love, and I want to talk franchise or somethin cause this needs to...

Drive thru ordered chicken nugget dinner. Got at work and had something else I did not know what it was. Drove back and walked in to get what I ordered and paid. The dude at the counter… and I call him dude because he is not a man or a gentleman. Nor knows about customer service or how to be polite or even respectful. Tells me I got what I ordered as soon as I stated what had happened. I corrected him 3 times to what he answered after he gave me the correct order that perhaps “someone” is in the wrong. Customers don’t just drive back if they get what they paid and ordered. This place is a waste of money and time. They are not reliable or trustworthy. And asking them to deliver will get you into a confrontation or argument. Do yourself a favor and go to a business where you are appreciated or at least treated normally with a...
