We've tried quite a few ice cream spots along the Mississippi coast, and while there have been many great spots, this has been the best so far! Their ice cream is thick and creamy, and they offer fairly unique flavors that they rotate out seasonally. Everything we've tried so far has been delicious! I especially like the peanut butter fudge pie, and I think the other was called chocolate torte? We've also tried cookie monster, red velvet, and the cream cheese flavor, and we have yet to be disappointed in any flavor.
We tried the hot fudge topping once and thought it was ok, but not great, especially in comparison to the top-notch ice cream. The ice cream definitely stands on its own and doesn't need additional toppings to be satisfying.
Service has always been good here! Even on a busy Saturday evening with a long line, they are very friendly and efficient while keeping the line moving.
There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor area is nice with a small swing set for kids. There is also a limited parking lot, but even if it is full, the area is pretty safe-feeling if you have to park a street...
Read moreI had my temperature taken once inside. Standing at the counter as the next customer to place order I was asked if I minded if I had my temperature taken. I asked if I would be helped if I refused and I was told “yes-you’ll be refused.” It’s one thing to take temperatures outside the store before entering giving customers their liberty of choice but to be asked once inside and ready to place an order after standing inside and in line for 5-10 minutes is not ok. The ineffective process by which a temperature is scanned after entering the building is not only ineffective but an insult to my own intelligence. If a business requires masks to enter they post it at the door and you choose wether to enter with your compliant face mask garnered. To be surprised by the request of a temperature and then made to believe you won’t take my order if “I do mind” is not socially acceptable to me nor in anyway effective. There is a better way and ice cream isn’t a dietary staple. I choose where I visit, how I visit and to whom I pay my money...
Read moreHey look a Creole Creamery just like all the other ones we have in the New Orleans area! It seems a LOT of New Orleans area businesses are opening locations in the BSL area these days. Well Creole Creamery certainly makes some nice ice cream so it is good to know you can get it here. Lots of New Orleans folks have relocated permanently to BSL so it makes a lot of sense that some of the places they liked back in Louisiana would recognize there is a growing demand for what folks crave for a taste of their former home. Maybe there will be locations of Parkway Bakery and Mandina's opening here soon as well? Overall it is nice to see a familiar business although it would have also been nice to see a local BSL ice cream joint as well (maybe there is one I just haven't seen...
