I have had McAlister's all over the country, specifically in GA, FL, AL and OH. I have frequented this location several times and typically their food is delicious, fresh, and made correctly. Today, however, at this location in Beavercreek, OH it was a different story.
I ordered a chicken club on a Baguette instead of the typical bread it comes on. I also ordered another sandwich with a side of tortilla soup. I received my ordered and rushed away to get back to work, I was in a hurry and should have checked my food. Once I got back to my office, I noticed my order was completely wrong. My chicken club was like a salad with no bread, just lettuce, tomato, and chicken in the box. I had no tortilla chips for my tortilla soup. I called and asked to speak with management, the first manager offered to replace my meal. I explained that I lived about 20 minutes from this location, wouldn't be eating my lunch bc of this inconvenience, and asked for a free meal and a refund. I explained I would drive back once I got off of work. To my dismay, the manager told me that they couldn't give me both, after all I may of eaten the meal. I explained that I was not touching my meal bc it was not what I ordered. I even stated I would bring the meal back. I then asked to speak to their manager, and he offered to replace my meal and add a free cookie. I explained that I would be wasting my time and gas because my meal was made incorrectly. The manager then told me he would throw in a free lemonade.
I am a Customer Service manager, and this was awful customer service. In fact it left a nasty taste in my mouth, and I will not frequent this location once I get the meal...
Read moreI was in one day last week for lunch with my friend. I frequently visit this restaurant at least once a week when I am up from Cincinnati visiting and I ALWAYS enjoy McAlister's, but this experience was very different. There was an incident between one of the managers (a younger Mexican girl who came out from the kitchen) and one of the normal ladies that works in the dining room. This lady working the dining room, I do not know her name, but she is usually there when we come for lunch and ALWAYS does an excellent job. She seems to really care about what she does and the customers. So, what really bothered me was she kept asking the manager to just let her go(as it seemed her shift was over & all her stuff was done) BUT the manager really kept on looking to escalate the situation by badgering her. The older lady/dining room lady(whom I always love) finally burst into tears and ran into the kitchen. & in my opinion, this is not something a manager should do; they should always support their staff and try not to escalate the situation. So unfortunately, as much as I love this restaurant, the management situation I just experienced was very dissatisfying. As a frequent customer, I don't enjoy seeing hardworking employees get treated in that manner when, in my opinion, she was not doing anything wrong & she was just trying to go home for the day. I might continue to come in, but I would appreciate if something could be done in regards to the way the manager approaches the staff, especially in front...
Read moreI would recommend not tipping before you obtain your order. Also, before leaving check everything, open containers to make sure things are correct. It had been several years since I purchased from here and now I remember why. Something was always wrong with my orders. The reason people tip is to ensure good service, it is not an entitlement. Even though my order was very a large order. One Pic 2 of salad and soup, second pick 2 of sandwich and soup, a bowl of soup and cookies, I would like to get what I paid for. I tipped 30%, over 10.00 on that order. I tipped when I ordered and gave them another 5.00 when I picked up the order, was that not enough of a tip? I understand the store had another customer, only one table occupied and no one in line when I arrived. It just doesn't make sense to me why the orders are correct. I stopped coming there because of the aggravation. Please don't tell people to return to get their orders corrected. We just can't pick up and leave sick and dying patients to get what we paid for. I figure it would take 10 minutes to put soup in containers, lettuce in container and prepare a sandwich. Tipping 10.00 for an order like mine would equate to 60.00 an hour in addition to what the company pays an employee. It sounds alot more lucrative than nursing. Good news is, the economy is robust, new businesses are popping...
