Panera Bread — Restaurant in Beavercreek

It was February my birthday month and I was in Dayton staying with my daughter and two grandchildren for the weekend. The #panera email for my free #birthday #pastry was about to expire. I look forward to this #freebie every year. I love the #kitchensinkcookie but it was sold out.I tried the #chocolatechippercookie. It was big, a little bit chrispy and had a lot of big chocolate chips. I stashed it away for sharing with my daughter later. They were outside in the car waiting for me. I had arrived there after 4 pm and encountered an early dinner line. It took me about 5 minutes to get up to the order counter. About that time a second employee jumped in to help with all the customers. After some confusion because the email didn't have a barcode I provided my phone to access my account. This worked great & I was outside in the car in 2 minutes. All the employees at the order counter and in the food preparation line were busy but friendly and helpful. This is one of the worst Panera Bread's around. The staff is rude and the Managers really don't care. I went to this location today and the young lady at the register didn't even speak to me. I literally had to look at her and make her say Hi, which she barely even did that. She looked at me as if to say what do you want, without saying it. So at that point I just said forget it, I'll go to the other one on Dayton-Xenia Rd. I called the store as I was driving and ask to speak to a manager. I spoke to the manager on duty just to share my experience and make her aware of what happened. But I still felt like she didn't really care either. Needless to say, the whole encounter was very off putting and felt like my patronage didn't matter. These company's tend to hire all of these young people who has no home training or the company's are just so desperate to fill a spot due to being short staffed. This location is a very busy spot. I love Panera but this locations customer service has went downhill. They had black bean soup listed on the menu and it has been a long time since I have seen that a location still had it. I went up to order black bean soup got told by one person it was discontinued and the person next to the cashier says no we are just out. I said it is on your menu so which is it. I got blank stares from both so I said never mind I will just take a water. Every Panera I have been to when they are out of something they cover it up. Also while I was with my wife and sister in law. We over heard them twice telling workers not to take orders for chicken salad we don't have it anymore. Then some kind of cranberry item they told to stop telling people they can order them both. Bad bad service dinning room was dirty yet there was plenty of workers that could be wiping tables and sweeping the floors. Them seemed to be to busy talking with each other about non work...
