This was my first time visiting Handel's & their claim of being "#1 in the world (for ice cream)" definitely set a pretty high expectation on flavor - but the ice cream was just ok - I had banana and the flavor was mild enough that my partner couldn't identify what fruit it was after he tried a bit. He said his raspberry fudge ice cream was good, but nothing outstanding as well.

I also am disappointed that there is no ingredient list for any of their flavors anywhere: in their store or on their website. They supposedly use "only the finest ingredients", but then why hide what's actually in your ice cream? Therefore until they disclose their full ingredient list, anyone that has allergens or likes to eat a certain type of diet - like using only real ingredients, no artificial chemicals, should avoid this chain.

As a side note, their vegan selection is incredibly lackluster still (I saw other earlier reviews mentioned a lack of vegan options too). They only had 2 vegan flavors today. One was chocolate almond - so anyone with a nut allergy's selection was reduced down to 1 flavor.

My final gripe is that I ordered a $2 dog treat (A Purina Frosty Paw) for my puppy, and they said they were out. So I asked them for a single scoop of vanilla ice cream instead for my puppy & they charged me full price for that scoop. Not a happy camper about that. She seemed to like her ice cream though.

I can't justify their prices without seeing their ingredients, and I wasn't that wowed by the flavor. I will not...

The actual ice cream is quite good. The service is consistently poor to abysmal.

In one instance, I was in line with a friend. We hadn't decided what to order and thus courteously allowed the guy behind us to order... Except he ordered four hand scooped pints. At one point he left the store and I looked at the three Handel's employees. Not one of them acknowledged us. I then said we only wished to order two cones for us. No one helped us and after ten minutes of waiting, we just left.

In another instance, I got there a couple minute before their stated closure. Nonetheless their doors were already locked and no one was willing to help us, despite my pointing to the time on my phone.

One last thing, it's now middle July 2022 and they're still not giving samples of their ice cream flavors. By comparison, all the other ice cream shops I'm aware of are. This includes Salt & Straw, Cool Moon, and What's the Scoop. Therefore I recommend any of those shops. The customer service is...

I had the absolute worse service at the Cornell location and I will not return because of the service. The cashier/server had a horrible attitude and didn't take accountability for messing up the order.

I ordered 3 sundaes in waffle bowls to go. However, when the employee started making them, she had the plastic bowl and didn't switch to the waffle bowl even though I said something before she started to scoop the ice cream out. She then brought the first sundae to the counter and I reminded her it was a to-go order. At that point, she proceeded to tell me that they "don't make sundaes to-go" but would see if there was a container. In the past, I have ordered sundaes to go without any issues and, on that same day, I saw a customer with a banana split in a...

We stopped by this ice cream shop on a warm afternoon and had a great experience overall. The ice cream itself was definitely the highlight, creamy, rich in flavor, and with a wide variety to choose from. My son was especially happy, really loved the oreo and cotton candy flavors and couldn’t stop smiling the entire time. The shop was clean and well-kept, and everything felt fresh and inviting. If I had to nitpick, I’d say the staff could’ve been a bit friendlier. They weren’t rude by any means, just not very warm or engaging. But will definitely come back and try their other flavors.

I don't know what it is about this ice cream but it's so good. I even crave it during the winter obviously it's better to eat ice cream in the summer, but really there's no time for ice cream when it's this good. They have a huge variety of ice cream to choose from. If you look at their online menu keep in mind it won't always align with what they have in store. I would say this place is definitely kid friendly. I always see families coming here if you're looking for ice cream in the Beaverton Area I would say definitely check this place out. You will not regret it.
