WildFin American Grill â A Great Dining Experience
WildFin American Grill in Beaverton offers a welcoming and relaxed dining atmosphere, living up to its reputation as a casual neighborhood restaurant that prides itself on serving the best products the region has to offer. With a focus on Northwest meats, seafood, and produce, as well as local handcrafted beers and wines, they aim to deliver a high-quality dining experienceâand for the most part, they succeed.
We visited on a Monday evening, just before the dinner rush, and were seated immediately since the restaurant wasnât busy yet. The staff was friendly and attentive, which set a great tone for the meal.
Food & Drinks
I ordered the WildFin Dinner House Burger ($25.95), which came with bacon onion jam, Cambozola cheese, arugula, tomato, and a brioche bun, served with Parmesan truffle fries on the side. I also paired it with the WildFin Hefeweizen ($7.95), though they were out of my first choice of beer.
The burger was excellentâone of the best Iâve had in recent memory. The flavors were well-balanced, with the bacon onion jam adding a nice sweetness that complemented the creamy, slightly funky Cambozola cheese. The truffle fries were tasty, though they didnât stand out as much as the burger. The presentation was impressive, with the food served on a wooden plate tray, which added to the experience.
My cousins ordered the Petite Tender ($34.95), which featured a chimichurri herb salsa and garlic herb butter, alongside the Alaskan Sockeye with lemon vermouth butter and avocado verde. They enjoyed their meals, though they felt the Fresh Shucked Oysters ($4.25 each) werenât worth the price, mentioning that they were on the smaller sideâabout the size of a silver dollar.
Ambiance & Atmosphere
The restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere, with good background music that my cousins pointed out. One unexpected but enjoyable surprise was a guitarist who came in to perform for a birthday celebration at another table. He played multiple songs, including Happy Birthday, which added a unique touch to the evening. It wasnât clear whether this was arranged by the restaurant or an outside vendor, but it certainly enhanced the experience.
Final Thoughts
Overall, WildFin American Grill delivers on its promise of handcrafted food and drinks that highlight the best of the Northwest. The service was great, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and the foodâespecially the burgerâwas fantastic. The only real downside was the pricing of the oysters, which didnât quite match their size.
Would I return? Absolutely. Iâd love to explore more of their menu, and if their other dishes are as good as the WildFin Dinner House Burger, then itâs definitely worth coming back for.

First and foremost, let me start off by saying that our waitress, Crystal, provided the best service that I had experienced in quite some time. We entered the bar (which was packed and without open seating.) To me thatâs a good sign. We stood waiting for a table to open up and were warmly greeted by Crystal, who then asked if we had any time restrictions or movie plans so the restaurant could accommodate us accordingly. She also asked if we had any food allergies. Blown away, I said no and we began looking at happy hour menu. Although Crystal had SEVERAL other tables, she was back within 5 minutes with water and to take our drink order. We received our beverages in a timely manor as well and she then found us an open table.
Having been our first visit, Crystal was incredibly knowledgeable about Wildfinâs menu. Sustainable, wild caught, gorgeous seafood options abound! We ordered the happy hour Tower and for $17.95, we received a beautiful trio of apps. On top was a perfectly cooked, lightly battered calamari steak in which they marinate buttermilk overnight. I had zero complaints. The second plate was a generous helping of large prawns smothered in a yummy caper sauce with artichoke hearts and bread cubes seasoned and toasted to perfection, as they soaked up the sauce perfectly. The bottom plate was wildfinâs in-house smoked salmon dip served with crostini. The salmon dip was filled with heaping chunks of delicious salmon and greek yogurt as the dipâs base. Never in my life have I seen so much salmon in a dip. It was beautifully done, with my only very minor gripe being, I felt as though the saltiness of the smoked salmon did overpower the salmon itself. (And I love salt) But, that is only a personal opinion and felt the flavors were outstanding nonetheless.
Lastly, I was surprised when I was told that their scratch margaritas which are on happy hour, were pre-made. Pleasantly surprised, they were incredibly balanced! Overall, I will be eating here again and again!
Thank you Robby for getting the beverages out so quickly during your busiest hours. Thank you Crystal, for educating my husband and myself on the restaurant and all of its amazing qualities.
To whomever is in charge of the hiring process, well done. Itâs a rarity to find customer service of this quality and employees who can still make eye contact and that clearly possess a passion for...
Read moreWe just had the best restaurant experience of our lives at Wildfin American Grill in Beaverton, OR. We weren't sure where to eat tonight, but knew we wanted to eat somewhere in the area. We were pretty excited to see that WildFin was finally open and went right in.
We ended up at the Chef's Table. I was pretty unsure about this, but we didn't want to wait 30 minutes for a table on a busy Friday night. I am SO glad we ended up where we did. We were lucky enough to witness the kitchen staff having some fun and working their butts off. I was very impressed. Our spots at the Chef's Table also let us see every dish come out of the kitchen, which is a great way to spy meals you might want to order next time.
The wait staff and everyone else we met was unbelievably helpful and kind. We talked to at least six different team members while we ate. Everyone was friendly and happy to make suggestions. Water was always refilled quickly, dishes were cleared immediately, and food was prompt (for a busy night, at least). Special thanks to both Mark and Eric for making our experience an awesome one.
The food itself was absolutely divine. We started out with the Calamari, which had just a touch of heat to it thanks to the jalapeños. The calamari is done in thick steak strips which tastes so much better than the mostly-breading rings you get elsewhere. I had a blue salad, which was absolutely delicious. For entrees, we had the Northwest Seafood Fettuccine Alfredo and the Simply Grilled Halibut with veggies. The fettuccine had a TON of seafood and the cream sauce was flavorful, but light. The halibut and the veggies were cooked perfectly. We wrapped things up with their signature fried Donuts in Maple Bourbon Sauce. I'm not a sweets fan but oooh were these delicious.
Drinks were also great. We ordered the Capella Porter and the Huckleberry Collins. Both were excellent.
All in all, that was the absolute best restaurant experience we've ever had. Though it is not inexpensive, it was worth every penny. We'll definitely...
