I dined there today, May 30, 2021, for my niece's graduation dinner. I have never visited the Pappadeux chain and was excited to do so on this visit to Texas. What should have been a joyous occasion was overshadowed by a severe lack of customer service. We RSVP'd for 20 people. At the time of our dinner, the hostess said we needed 90% of our party there to be seated. Ninety percent (18) arrived, and we were seated. However, the table space wasn't adequate. When the rest of our party arrived, they were told they had to wait 30 minutes to get a table after the others waiting outside were seated. In short, we were never accommodated with enough space for our party. We literally had to pull up chairs to seat the others once they told the host that they RSVP'd and would be joining us. A general manager never came out to help mitigate the issue. We were told that the GM said he can't accommodate us. Instead, the hostess was left to handle it all, and she didn't do so well. Her attitude wasn't pleasant. My food was okay and our waitress, Maria M., was very patient along with her partner waiter. However, I'm not sold on this location's customer service, especially when they had the resources to accommodate our party. Finally, after we all had decided to remain at the two cramped tables and drop the issue, the hostess came to us and started discussing the issue again. About five minutes later, a young lady in a black suit asked me if I would mind stepping back a few moments so that they could connect another table with the two we had. Of course, I had no objections. But why did it take us getting through half our meal and continuously being told we wouldn't be accommodated just to be accommodated in the end? The way the issue was handled was a bit uncouth. The pictures show how much space and how many unused tables were available during our...
Read moreWe've been dining at this particular location for over 8 years, it's conviniently located near our home. We visited yesterday to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had the worst service ever! I made a 6:30pm reservation the day before (Friday). When we arrived Saturday, the place was not as busy as usual but the employees seemed very slow and about 4 of them congregated at the podium with the hostesses. At the start, our booth still had crums on the seat and on table from not properly wiping down, our server was unfocused and concentrated on a big party that was behind us. We ordered soft drinks and also adult beverages. Our appetizer arrived before our drinks, I believe our server forgot to get them ordered from the bar, took 24 minutes to get them. When we ordered our entreés we were told they had run out of baked potatoes, so we had to settle for fries. We were never provided with utensils so we waited on them after our appetizer arrived. We made several requests that either were forgotten or ignored, went 10 minutes without drink refills and weren't even given the chance to order a dessert as our server quickly brought the check. She was very apologetic about her inability to keep up with serving and forgetting our requests. We have always enjoyed the food and drinks at Pappadeaux, we always take friends and family when they visit, but may now be visiting other restaurants in the area from now on. A special dinner planned was pretty much doomed from the beginning.. I believe lack of training and management is what this...
Read moreAbsolutely Disappointed – Worst Restaurant Experience Ever (Except for Johnni)
We came to Pappadeaux to celebrate a huge family milestone—our loved one graduating with her doctorate in pharmacy. What should’ve been a joyous occasion turned into one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, we weren’t even greeted properly. The staff, aside from Johnni (who was the only one with any professionalism or kindness), was completely inattentive and rude.
We weren’t allowed to simply order a drink at the bar and pay for it right away, which made no sense. Several family members never received their food, and many of us were left waiting endlessly for drinks that never came. At one point, our server told us he had put the drink orders in, but the bartender “just didn’t have any urgency” to make them. Seriously?
To make matters worse, the manager refused to come out and speak to us to address the issues. No apology, no accountability—nothing. It felt like we were an inconvenience rather than guests there to celebrate something meaningful.
Pappadeaux, you ruined what was supposed to be a special day. I’ve never been treated so poorly in a restaurant in my life, and I truly hope no one else has to go through what we did. The only redeeming part of this experience was Johnni—thank you for at least trying to do your job with grace and kindness. NEVER GO HERE EVER! We are also in the process of contacting corporate to...
