Delicious comfort food, good price. Get the goat curry. Don't need to order ahead, just show up and take the food to go. Read on for the story.

So I had a rough week and I really needed someone else to cook me food. I took to the search engines and found Curry Point. Sure, I'll try it. Called them to place an order and they said yes, they had that food, come in and get it. Okay.... So I went. I did read all these 1 and 2 star reviews so I was nervous, but, hey, there are 4 and 5 star reviews here too.

I go in and the place has three patrons in it. Uh oh. But then as I stand there waiting for my order, a new person comes in for food every 2 minutes. That tells a different story. People want the food, they just take it home with them. And I was about to learn why.

I ordered 32 oz, 16oz each of goat and chicken curry. Boring, I know, but I wanted comfort food, not a culinary experience. And that's just what I got.

I drove home, put the curries over some rice, and, wow. Comfort was the exact word for it. It was delicious, sure, but there was something more to it. It was so warming, so filling, so... comforting. Sitting at home, in my own space, eating this food - I felt warm and safe.

The goat curry had sizable chunks of meat, few bones, and and an enveloping evenness in the rest of the sauce. The chicken curry had even larger chunks of meat. The chicken didn't use a creamy base which surprised me, but then, I've had a lot of coconut cream curries recently.

Bottom line: This place is worth the money. It'll provide you a comforting experience if you let it. If you want a high brow experience you're going to have to go elsewhere - but that's not what this is about. This is fast, counter-serve food ready and simmering for those rainy Seattle days when you just need something warm in the comfort of your own home. Think of it like those 1950s rail car diners. No, you're not going to those for their filet mignon - but when you need some good fried chicken there's nowhere better.

My recommendation: Get the Goat curry, take it home, and kick...

Horrible service by front desk guys, who are rude and no respect to customers, they don't know anything about what is in their menu. I got an argue with one of the guy because I want to order something which was not there, and he was like "is it on the menu", then I had to order something else, after 5 mins he put item in the menu. WTF..he should atleast told me the item am trying order should be ready in 5 mins, so I can order what I like. When I went their to cancel my order to order the item I like, he said they can't cancel the order because it's already packed and he was giving an explanation, that he don't know the item going to be there in the menu after 5 mins. I was put on wait for 15 mins even though my order was already packed and all the people who order after me are already took their packages and left. Finally I got my order and after I ate it at home, my stomach got upset. I am sure they put something in the food which made me sick...beware of front desk guys..they could kill me...luckily am not too sick so i didn't compliant to police...I used to like curry point before when are in the beginning stages, now everything is become commercial. I don't recommend to go to this...

Disgusting food. The veg thali is pathetic. Roti was like rubber. The special rice that they serve along with normal rice tastes pathetic. If asked to serve extra curry or dal they charge $5 extra. First of all they give less of dal compared to the rice served and one spoon if asked for more they want to charge $5. The entire thali is for $11. I would appreciate if you could charge reasonable and don’t be insane with your pricing. Also, “Bad customer service too. I saw the lady at the counter scratched her hair and rubbed her hair and used the same hands to serve us. Very unhealthy and unhygienic place to eat. Please avoid eating at all cost here. Tables and chairs are so dirty and they don’t clean it after customers finish eating. How can you be so dirty and unhygienic?” I have eaten thali at other restaurants they charge reasonable and also give good quantity and quality. Can you go and eat at your competitors and see where you guys stand? Better improve...

We worked with Curry Point to create our wedding favor bag with fresh sweets/savory mixture. Sridevi garu was very helpful throughout the process and helped us pick the right sweets for our gift box. We also requested that they pack both sweets and mixture in the gift packing boxes we purchased--we are so thankful they were able to do this because looking back at the week of the wedding, there were so many other tasks and to-dos. We ordered badushahs for the sweet box and they are so so good!! Many of our guests messaged us after the wedding on how good the mixture is and asked us for contact details. Their sweets are made fresh in-house and they ensure that all of them are fresh for delivery the day you need them. So glad to have a place that makes home made sweets in Seattle, and we're glad we were able to share a piece of what we love with our guests. Will keep coming back for more! :)

My rating is based on the most recent experience. Also it seems to be a family run business since I see the same familiar faces every time I go. I picked up some Karam podi, chutneys, curd rice, lassi and husband ordered chicken curry. Idli and Dosas we have tried are good. We have tried a few different things and we are more selective about what we order at curry point now. You can find better biryanis at few other Indian restaurants east side. Our go to Dum Biryani place is Cafe Bahar. Curry point has good curries and good andhra home style snacks and tiffins. On a side note while we were waiting for our order they gave us a sample of the Indian pizza they are introducing next week. The chicken pizza was really liked by hubby. He said he will be ordering more.

2nd visit: ordered the below items - Chicken Dum Biryani: Very good and tasty. Could have reduced oil little bit - Goat fry Biryani: This is Amazing. Super flavorful and tasty. Could have reduced oil little bit - Chicken 65: very decent and tasty - Karampodi chicken: not worth to eat or order. Totally mess Finally: If you like spicy food with decent taste, Then this is best place I am changing my rating from 1 star to 3 star. I could have given 4, but yet to taste many items. 1st Visit: We ordered Goat fry Biryani which was the day special! More Gravy, less pieces. Normally we eat spicy food, but it is very spicy for us too. Not worth of the price!!
