I gave this place so many chances, but I cant stand it anymore. The services is always slow, not only the cashiers are slow and rude. Their seafood department is extremely slow, with bad services like fish are not completely clean. The crabs are missing legs, and also waaaaay overpriced. They are selling 15.99 a lb today, 3 dollars more than uwajimaya. Uwajimaya is 12.99 and also wrap the seafood in huge thick plastic bags and then papers. The claws are also tied up with rubber band so crabs wont start boxing in the bags. In the summer, uwajimaya will even get you some ice pack so your seafood stays fresh on your way home. I paid a premium today at this Asian "family" market, and the dude just put the crab in a little plastic bag which the crab legs have poke through and water dripping everywhere. The old Chinese didn't even care. They always just stare at you and almost like telling you to go away with their eyes. Their meat is bad as well, and somehow they got a sign of selling wagyu? No way. Some of their meat even look like it was frozen, defrosted and then frozen again. Good luck eating that. A lot of times their on sale items aren't even cheap. They set a high price tag and then put it on sale so it looks cheap, but if you actually compare, you can find a lot cheaper things in other supermarkets close by. Oh and remember to check expiration date on those items, they might surprise you. Their produce is also really bad quality, vegetables are dirty and dry. I have seen garlics even got some molds on them. I am okay with the low quality if they are cheap. Too bad they are totally opposite. I often find cheaper stuff in Fred Meyer, Grocery Outlet, or Cash and carry which are all just a block away. This place is totally trying to rip people off with really bad Quality Control (sounds familiar?). Especially those that doesn't speak English and keeps going to this place because they always think that Chinese supermarket must be cheaper and would be easier because they speak the same language. Go see for yourself, compare price and quality around, tell your friends. After all, you dont wanna pay a premium for food that might...
Read moreI never leave a bad review, this should show you how frustrating my experience was. When we were checking out at the cashier, our cashier started talking really loudly (yelling to be exact) at us, she also tossed our stuff as she rang it up. I didn’t speak the language so I could not find out what was wrong. I found out later through my partner that the cashier was mad that we put an item that was slightly wet on the belt, it was a small plant I found that they sell there. Where was I supposed to put it to get rung up? If she had asked nicely that we hold the item until she can ring it up then I would totally be happy to do that, but she passive aggressively throw our groceries around just to be rude. The worst part is, she didn’t even know how to ring the plant up and keep yelling at me again. Her co-worker eventually helped but she had made such a big scene about the plant for no reasons. I was really respectful the whole time, mainly because I wasn’t sure what was wrong. Keep in mind this is a store where you bag your own stuff, so I was literally catching the groceries that she was aggressively tossing my way after ringing them up. I’m sure it’s just one employee, but the fact that management allows her to toss around people’s paid stuff and raise her voice is just so frustrating. I’m asian and I understand that Asian grocery stores are very different from typical American stores, and you need to respect how they do things. But this was just a super rude person who was not trained well, not a reflection of the rest of the...
Read moreStay away from this place. A woman got flesh eating bacteria from here. I went there today since they moved and supposedly improved and I found to be the same, if not worse. Vegetables are not fresh at all. As a matter of fact, I found many to have mold on them. Thankfully, I didn’t go there to buy vegetables. I went in for a specific kind of fish and I found the workers at the fish counter to be just as rude as ever. I stood there waiting for help for nearly 30 minutes! I observed the Hispanic worker be extremely rude and disrespectful to the customers in front of me. When my turn came, this same Hispanic worker, skipped me and went on the help a Hispanic customer that got there after me. They started speaking Spanish to each and ignored my presence. I let him know that I was there first and had been waiting for half an hour already. They both proceeded to ignore me; then, when he saw that I was not about to overlook his utter disrespect, he decided to take my order. Once he bagged to fish, he literally threw it at the other end of the counter without giving me a second look and went back to the “line-skipper” customer. I had to walk to the other side to the counter to get my fish. The lack of customer service that other google reviews mentioned is a problem all the way to the cashiers. It seems no one in this store speaks English, so, good luck getting your...
