My buddy and I were at Ross Park Mall today. We wanted something to eat but don’t do chain places. He had never been to Bellevue so I suggested we go there and find a restaurant. We walked by Joe’s Rusty Nail and checked the specials posted in the window. Those pork chops with barbecue sauce and grilled onions looked appealing so we decided to go in. We were immediately welcomed and seated. Our server (blond lady with glasses) was friendly and efficient. Told her we will make this easy—we both wanted the same meal! Derrick was very pleased with the provolone sticks, crispy coating and the cheese was just right. The salad was just so-so but the bread was delicious! Our server said pork chops take longer to cook but they’re worth waiting for. Two THICK tender pork chops cooked to perfection (pork can be tough if overcooked—this was perfect) covered with grilled onions and just the right amount of barbecue sauce—you could taste the pork, sauce and onions, not just barbecue sauce. We both enjoyed the home made french fries. The meal included a generous serving of corn. Our server offered dessert, but we were both full from the delicious meal. This little gem is easy to miss but it’s definitely...
Read moreSunday night at 730 We were looking for a big fish sandwich. Searched big fish sandwich near me. And there it was !!!! Headed right over there !! We were greeted with the nicest people . We ordered soup I had french onion and my girl had stuffed pepper soup. We both took one spoonful and knew we made the right decision . Then the fish came WOW it was huge with all the toppings. We couldn't finish all of it. It was very fresh and delicious. They made fresh coffee just for me also. The waitress said how about dessert . she went through a variety of pies and cakes. I chose apple she said how about ice cream and would you like it warm. I felt like I was in the 70's again. All I can say is it was the best experience I've had in a long time. Fresh large portions of food. Homemade soup and desert. And the best service we have had in a very long time. And at the end on a very cold night the waiter gave me a hot cup of to go coffee. These people really care ! And that will bring us back again and again. Thank you so much I truly enjoyed my visit to Joe's Rusty Nail. I can't wait to try...
Read moreI grew up here in Bellevue and Joes Rusty Nail has always been my favorite restaurant. My grandmother would go pretty much every single day, they called her 'Gramma Flo'. Which matched her red scooter license plate which was always parked out front at some point during the day. This is another reason why this is a favorite of mine. The staff were always so kind and pleasant to her as well as my family. When she passed they hosted a dinner for us, I also had my own wedding reception at Joe's. The food is spectacular. I would describe it as top notch bar and grill food but in a small town environment but yet somehow still embraced that genuine home cooked taste. It is a very small place with not much room to roam however it does make for a casually intimate setting. The food and staff makes up for the small space. If you're ever in Bellevue stop by this place. it is cash only. Which is probably my only "complaint" if you can even call that a...
