I am from CA and go to MOD all the time at home. I have a serious dairy allergy and the employees at home have always offered to grab me fresh ingredients so I can enjoy a pizza without worrying about having an epileptic episode. Because of MOD’s amazing employees, I’ve never gotten sick at any of the locations in CA. So, when I decided to go to MOD here in WA while on vacation, I expected the same thing. Wow, was I wrong! The employee who made my pizza fought me on using fresh toppings telling me they were the same when I kindly tried to explain that the cheese is all over the toppings everyone else uses. He began to thrash around, grabbing my crust and tray to start making my pizza. I even tried to apologize because I do understand that it is more work for them. But he got so upset that he literally threw my ingredients onto my pizza (no exaggeration!) and was making rude remarks under his breath. My husband had to take over and order my toppings because I didn’t even know what to do at this point.
The rest of the employees were nice and understanding, so I decided to give my review 2 stars because of them. However, as a person who can literally only eat at 5 restaurants total and has to always live in fear of food, I was very disappointed that this employee tried to make me feel like a giant inconvenience to his day. I simply wanted to have a nice dinner with my husband at one of the very few restaurants I felt I...
Read moreI give this place 3 stars only because the food was fine. However my wife and 5 and 9 yr old sons and I went to dinner here last night. We ordered our food and the guys behind the pizza bar were very polite and professional. We then get to pay for our food, the smug angry guy behind the register asked what we ordered. I told him 3 pizzas and a salad and we added 3 drinks. I gave the guy my credit card and he said , and I quote "declined !" and throws the card on the counter, so I gave him another and he said again "declined! ,a and throws the card on the counter" At this point the guy looked pretty upset and as if I was wasting his time. I was baffled because I knew that I had plenty of credit available on both cards. I had no other cards in my wallet, so I had to run to my car which wasn't near by and grab my bank card and used it as debit and that one worked. Then I noticed he charged me for 4 pizzas instead of 3 so i had him correct the amount. The next morning I checked my credit cards and I HAD CHARGES ON ALL 3 CARDS. for the 4 pizzas not the 3. Now I have to take the time to call my credit cards and the Mod pizza because this was not a good experience. Literally EVERYWHERE else will try the card again, not this guy, and I am holding back from using bad language. I'm pretty pissed off...
Read moreMod's is generally quite good in terms of customizability, which means it's hard to go wrong here. The ingredients and process, while not the absolute top quality, are good enough that if you end up with a bad result, it's probably on you (i kind of realized putting ricotta as the base of half my pizza wasn't the greatest idea)
They do pizza pretty well and consistently across this chain. The crust gets charred pretty well on the bottom, the outer crust section isn't too chewy, and the cheese is consistently melted to a good level. The mozzarella especially was quite good When it comes to the toppings - the favorite out of the ones I got was the spicy chicken sausage, this was marinated well and pretty juicy. The pineapple was also good
Despite the fact that it's unlimited toppings, they actually give you a decent amount for each one you order. You can choose to really fill your pizza up if you want to Also, it's very good price-wise. A full MOD pizza - easily big enough for a person - comes out to around $13 with tax. Considering the full customizability, that's a very good deal
Overall, not anything crazy, but MOD has consistent, solid pizza that always delivers...
