Read moreI recently dined at Desi Tadka Restaurant in Bellevue, and it was a truly experience that brought me back to Delhi food memories. I was excited to explore this place that offers a menu brimming with the authentic flavors of Indian cuisine. I ordered the highly recommended Amritsari Naan. From the moment it arrived at the table, I could tell that this traditional Indian bread was crafted with care. The naan had a beautiful golden-brown exterior, enticingly crispy and slightly charred in all the right places. As I tore into it, I discovered a soft and fluffy interior that practically melted in my mouth. The naan was generously seasoned with fragrant spices, The subtle notes of cumin, coriander, and garlic added falvors, transporting me to the vibrant streets of India. it came with Chhole and a tangy chutney (salsa). 5/5
I couldn't resist indulging in the Chhole Bhature, a classic combination that holds a special place in Indian cuisine. The perfectly puffed and golden-brown bhature were served alongside a steaming bowl of aromatic chhole (chickpeas). The bhature had a delightful crunch on the outside, while maintaining a soft and airy texture on the inside. The chhole had a rich, tangy gravy that was beautifully balanced in terms of flavor and spice. Accompanied by pickles and onions, it was a fulfilling and authentic culinary experience. 5/5
Makke Ki Roti with Saag, a traditional Punjabi dish known for its comforting flavors. The Makke Ki Roti, made from cornmeal, was expertly prepared. It boasted a delightful texture, with a slight crispness on the outside and a soft, doughy center. It served as a perfect vehicle for the creamy and flavorful saag (spinach curry). The saag was a true highlight, with a velvety consistency and a symphony of aromatic spices. 5/5
The staff members were knowledgeable about the menu, readily offering recommendations and catering to any dietary preferences and spice preferences (the spice level on naan I ordered was a 4/5 and it was HOT - would suggest sticking to medium spicy options) Definite recommend trying it if you are looking to taste or craving for good North Indian food Looking forward to trying more items...
Read moreWas visiting Seattle from Denver and was searching for punjabi dhaba (hoping that I would find one like I did in LA and Arizona) but couldn’t find any and then started looking for Indian food (particularly North Indian) as there are no good Indian (of any kind) restaurants in Denver area. Read the reviews and came to this place for dinner. Came at 6:30 PM so got the table. Ordered chola bhatoora and “Today’s Special” thali. As soon as food came out , looking at the portions I could see why the prices are on a higher side. As soon as I tasted it , I was like Wow- I hit the jackpot and found North Indian food tasting North Indian. Chole bhature was as good as I find in Chandigarh. The thali had palak paneer, dal makhani and tandoori roti. Everything tasted great. It was so good that I came back again the next day for dinner and came at 6 pm itself as I realized their service was slow and the table fills up around 7 pm. Ordered tikki chat and amritsari kulcha and both items tasted awesome just like day 1. I would give the food a solid 5 stars and would definitely not argue about that cost given the portion size and taste. Service is where these folks lag. 1st they take time to take order - I had to walk to the counter to place the order and then the never ending wait to get the order. But I’ll definitely wait if the food tastes so good. Overall 4 stars as food is 5 but service and atmosphere was 3. Would definitely be here...
