If your party has more than 2 people, be prepared to be pushed down on the waiting list and a very long waiting time.
We were fans for Musashi for its fresh chirashi with good price. But a recent unpleasant experience made us decided not to visit there anymore.
Here is our experience. Four of us went Musashi for lunch and got us in the second position on the waiting list, with only one couple in front of us. However, the waiter kept on bumping us down, putting the people behind us into table event when we’re there first. They even split a 4-seats table into two 2-seaters for two couples behind us, rather than putting us into the table.
My wife confronted the manager for an explanation. The manager gave us a very vague sentence claiming that because of our big party, they have to wait for a bench table for us, rather than using any table available. Then she just turn around doing her things ignoring our further questions. We were quite offended that we left the restaurant right away.
I’m a reasonable person and I understand the restaurant trying to squeeze more customers into tables. But simply bumping people down on the list without proper explanation is not acceptable. Here is what I expected in a decent restaurant,
When putting us in the waiting list, let us know that due to our big party (BTW, we only have 4 people, from when is this a big party?) that there will be delays in finding us a table.
Explain to us in advance that why people behind us are being seated rather than us.
Due to the terrible service we received, I’m giving them a 1-star, which I rarely do, and will not be back to the place again.
And a reminder for other customers. If your party has more than 2 people, be prepared to be pushed down on the waiting list and a very long...
Read moreMy, my, my. If I had been to Musashi's as my first sushi experience in the Seattle area I would never have gone anywhere else. Don't come here for a deep-fried cream-cheese filled mega roll. Come here for a sushi experience that simply preps the ingredients and lets them do their thing, rather than surrounding them with other flavors and add-ons. Their menu is packed with a solid wall of classic and well priced offerings, but I can almost guarantee you that isn't what you want. You are here for the churashi bowl. $15 gets you 2-4 servings of several kinds of fresh fish on a pile of perfect rice. If you think something on the list in the churashi bowl isn't your style, this is the time to try it. It will be good.
For moms of teens and those with big appetites - the churashi has you covered too. It is HUGE. For those with small appetites, you will find a way to eat all of it - it is just that good.
Bring cash, not cards. Expect green tea to be waiting for you in a thermos at the table. Don't ask a dozen questions. Don't take long to order. It isn't complicated. you want CHURASHI.

Read moreGot a Salmon & Cream Cheese roll today for take out, took it home and found that it tasted really spoiled. We took it apart and tasted each ingredient to see what was bad, it was the cream cheese without a doubt. I called the restaurant to let them know that they need to check their stock and probably change it out before serving it to anyone else. Not only did they not apologize, empathize or sympathize AT ALL, the manager responds that “the cream cheese should be fine, maybe it’s the rice.” What, man? Okay, well I’m an adult human with a mouth, I’ve been eating cream cheese my entire life, I know what it tastes like. Also, you served me spoiled food, for what reason are you going to come back with an argument about which ingredient was spoiled? Who says that? I don’t know where it’s considered great customer service to argue with the customer about obviously spoiled food, but apparently that’s the Musashi standard. Super disappointing because we usually order here once a week, it’s the most affordable sushi in the area, but I guess there’s a...
