So I've seen mixed reviews about Taco Del Mar. it's not a franchise like Chipotle and the first store opened in Washington. They do have a few locations in nearby states but I still consider it a WA local taco place. Sure it's not the best like stuff you'd get from Texas or SoCal but if you have a craving for Mexican and don't want to go to a franchise like Chipotle, then this is your spot.
I think the mixed reviews are due to the varying items they offer. I used to go to Taco Del Mar a lot as a kid - even before Chipotle was a thing. I think they shine with their burritos, fish taco, rice and beans, and taco salad. Anything else I really don't think it's worth trying. While the burrito and fish taco are on the expensive side, the taco salad is a great deal. I door dashed a taco salad for $13 and the portion size was great. They even make their own taco shell. It was a little on the cold side and they forgot my side of white fish sauce (my favorite) but remembered to put my sour cream and salsa on the side. I definitely prefer taco Del Mar over chipotle. Give the taco salad a try (not the burrito bowls). I feel like those aren't filling enough but for $13 total the taco salad is a great bang for your buck.
Also I hope this can be added but on door dash there's no option to add the...
Read moreI used to really like Taco del Mar, but this last experience has made me decide to choose Chipotle or my new favorite, QDoba. I asked for a bowl, no rice and was sorely disappointed that it was so small that I had to pay extra to make it an actual meal by adding extra chicken and beans. I'm confused as to why I spent nearly $20 for an okay bowl. Disappointed. I expressed this to the person training the new person making my bowl, only to be chuckled at and shrugging her shoulders like I was being ridiculous. I was the only one in the store during what should have been the lunch rush.....there were 4 people behind the counter. Maybe other locations are are better, which I really hope is the case. I absolutely don't like leaving bad reviews, but this was a...
Read moreDue to misadvertising and my hunger, I arrived at this place. This place is the fast food version of tacos. I tried a few different kinds. Buy when your shrimp gets microwaved in front of you, it's not a good feeling. But, I am being fair and grading it as a taco fast-food place. You will get okay tacos here - not great tacos. So, that's 3 stars. However, the service is stellar. All the people behind the counter we're super nice and they seem to really care for the customer and their needs. Therefore I am bumping it up to 4 stars. If you are looking for awesome tasting tacos, this is not the place. But if you want to go for a quick bite with the kids, this place is good. Pork taco was the...
