Just got done eating here (4/21/24) we arrived around 3:30pm and this is my reasoning for giving this place a 1 star.
I came into the establishment with my sister, brother, and best friend. Upon arriving we were greeted by the manager at the front desk. She sat us at our table and I had just told her we came from another restaurant and we just wanted to eat more food. The manager had just started her shift and she was really polite.
The manager sat us right in front of the bar. So we are all sitting in the booth facing the bar where we can see the bartenders and to our left is where the food was coming out and if we looked behind us you could see the front desk. Also a few employees were eating and enjoying their food break not too far from us.
Our server came and I believe her name is Faith (I could be Wrong 😭 sorry) she’s actually a really great server!! She took our order and we ordered a few apps (Hibachi Wings, Truffle Fries, Chicken Lettuce Wraps) 2 Mocktails (She Pretty) drinks , a Latte , 2 Henny shots, a Shirley Temple and also a To-Go Entree. Our server came and checked on us periodically and she was just awesome. Now this is why I gave this place 1 star…
So our server had told us she was going on a break and that someone will be taking over our table while she’s gone. So mind you she takes her break around 4pm we receive our to go order a few minutes later .Then we finish most of our food and wanted to take the rest home. Within a span about 15 to 20 mins no one has stopped by our table.
Another server was just walking by and my brother had stopped her and asked her for a box. We got our box and cleaned up and stacked our dishes & we wanted to order dessert. Another 10 mins and no one bothered to still check on us, at this point we get frustrated and just wanted our bill.
My brother proceeds to get up and this time he goes over to the manager (who first greeted us) and told her we were ready for our check (this is around 4:45pm) She walks over to the bar and tells the bartender we were ready to check out. I’m frustrated at this point because the bartender who was supposed to take over while our server was gone had a clear view of us sitting in front of her and didn’t bother to check on us not one time. If the bartender had looked up and straight across she could literally see us just sitting in plain sight.
The bartender comes over and doesn’t ask us how everything is and just says “you ready for your check ?”. Pulls out her iPad and I paid and still tipped 20 percent only because our server (Faith) was great. My best friend was highly upset and was making it clear that she was upset. We didn’t realize the bartender who was making drinks in front of us was the one taking over. I had to collect my thoughts and then walked up to the manager and expressed my frustration. The lovely manager apologized and I told her that the server wasn’t the issue but it was her bartender.
I didn’t get the bartender’s name but she’s a young blonde lady working on 4/21/2024 around 4pm. I get it ..we might not be HER table but why wouldn’t you take care of your co workers tables while they are on a break? Not only are you risking her tip but if you’re tip pooling you’re also ruining it for everyone else!!! Just not a smart move on her end especially when you live off tips. I don’t ever leave reviews (you can check) and I’m really chill and it takes a lot for me to get upset but the bartender really is the reason for the 1 star. If you don’t care at least act like you do. So I’m giving 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to our Server Faith and another 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to the manager also the food is great. The overall experience is just 1 star because who wants to leave upset?...
Read moreIm giving this restaurant a one star review due to the lack of communication and organization within the staff and management. I was an invited guest to a party of 22 (Please note that we made a reservation TWO WEEKS in advance). when we were seated, the host apologized for a miscommunication and stated that our tables would have to be split up because our party size was not communicated correctly to the staff. The host apologized and said that the restaurant would be covering “some appetizers” for us. The main group sat on a large table while the rest of us were in a booth. When our server came around, she introduced herself and was super nice. I told her about the free appetizers and she said that we could choose what we want. Our table decided to order three appetizers. When we were ready to pay the bill, I asked the server how we could split the check and she said that she was under the impression that the main group would pay for our food. She steps out to speak with a manager and then comes back ready to take our payment. Before I pay, I ask about the appetizers which she says that she’ll grab the manager to speak with us to make sure we’re on the same page. The manager, Emily, comes over and tells us that she spoke with someone on the main table and said that the restaurant would only be giving three free appetizers for the whole group and that the three appetizers had already been removed from the bill from the main table. So, the people in the booth had to deal with the bill on our own. Tell me why the host didn’t mention the three free appetizers at the beginning? or why the manager completely forgot about us? or why the server didn’t know? It’s such a huge lack of communication and organization when we made our reservation well in advance. Do not bring large groups to this restaurant because it’s not worth the headache. Mind you, I only ordered two things for myself and my partner, and my bill went from $45 to $83 after the appetizers. I shouldn’t have been the one to take care of the mistake when the manager nor the host did not communicate clearly with our group. Do better, especially when you know in advance about the size of the...
Read moreWill NEVER eat at this Joey again. I’ve been to the U-Village one several times, so when my mother-in-law and sister-in-law came to visit I suggested it.
The first issue was waiting forever to get a server over to us.
Second, my mother-in-law ordered an item that was pretty normal, not too out there. We all got our food, except her. The waitress was confused and said “oh, you didn’t get anything?” We corrected her, and about five minutes later she came back to tell us the kitchen was out. So, she had to settle for fish tacos, which were only a dollar or two less than what she had ordered, and way overpriced for the portion size (should have been comped after the first issue.)
My sister-in-law ordered chicken Parmesan, after saying to the waitress that she is highly intolerant to spicy food, and asked to make sure. Waitress said it isn’t spicy at all. Within two bites, my sister in law was having issues and asked. Turns out they sear the chicken in chili powder and use chili infused oil in the pasta. So, she sent it back and ordered steak well done and triple checked there is zero spice. Waitress again confirmed there is zero spice. What came out was about a 3oz steak encrusted in pepper and definitely on the more rare side of medium rare. Absolutely not what was ordered. The waitress only took one of these meals off, and my sister-in-law went hungry.
Only my fiancés meal - lobster ravioli. Okay, I get that lobster is meant to be pricier, and it’s Bellevue so everything is pricy. But $30 for six normal sized ravioli is a little above reasonable. He asked if this was the normal serving size and the waitress got annoyed.
We aren’t high-maintenance people, and we aren’t stingy. We went out for a nice meal with visitors and had a terrible experience all around. Like I said, we’ll never be returning. Just know if you’re going, you’re going to get less than stellar service, mouse-sized portions that will probably be wrong, and you’re going to be paying way more than any of...
