Jersey's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Beloit

We first went on a Tuesday, around 5:30, so not at all busy. Food was terrific - walleye, onion rings. They have great onion rings! Very friendly service, and fast. We returned on Friday night around 7:30 and the place was packed. We still got a table fast and there was not a long wait for the food. I tried the ribeye this time. It was thin, maybe 1/2 inch, with quite a bit of fat and some gristle. But the taste was excellent and it was cooked just the way I ordered it. Pretty tender too. Onion rings again and they were still great. My husband had the homemade chips and loved them. The only problem we had was dessert. He got turtle cheesecake and I got plain. His was really good; mine tasted off, like it was getting ready to go. I ate only a few bites and waitress noticed. She said that was odd because they had only opened it the day before. She took it away and said she would take it off the bill. However, she had already left the bill. We had to wait quite a long time, prob 15 min, for her to come back and take our payment. She did not bring a new bill, nor say anything about it, and we were ready to get out of there ( traveling the next day) so we paid for the bad cheesecake. However, I didn't get sick from it, so conclusion is I just don't like their plain cheesecake and don't recommend it. I would still recommend the place though. Be sure to try the...

We just returned from a two night stay at the Hampton Inn Beloit. (separate review) We saw Jersey's Bar and Grill from our window and we decided to give it a try for a late lunch our first day. Our server Erika D was great!! Very friendly and efficient. She made our visit so enjoyable we returned for lunch the next day with friends. The first day DH had the brats and sauerkraut and I had a Reuben sandwich and both were very good. We actually had enough leftovers to take back to the hotel for a late night snack. The prices are very reasonable and servings are large. It was great to just walk over from the hotel so we didn't have to worry about how many Spotted Cows we had..hahahaa The next day DH had the pork chop sandwich, I had a prime rib sandwich and our friends both had cheddar melts, taking advantage of the Wed. special of 2 for 1 burgers. All were delicious! Erika kept our drinks filled and checked in with us during our meals to make sure things were good for us. After our friends left for their drive home we returned for a few more drinks at the bar. (At this point Jersey's was probably wondering if they'd ever get rid of us LOL) Our bartender was very nice and I'm sorry I didn't get her name to thank her here. We loved the environment! The food was great! However, one improvement on the service side for example is. Our friend at the table got a fish sandwich, the fish was great! But the tomato on it was rotten. It didn’t make it taste very good. So the waitress Erica came back. & our friend simply stated nicely that she didn’t like it because of the tomato and she paused and said “well we just got a new truck of fresh produce I don’t know why it would taste bad” she was more insulted than helpful. I have personally been in the service industry for over 2 years. All Erica had to do was simply say to the guest “I am so sorry you didn’t enjoy your meal, is there anything I can grab you? Can we make you a new sandwich?” & “by the way I’ll have my manager take it off the bill right away!:)” All the problems would have been solved and the guest would be happy. But that did not happen. We are not trying to be mean or harsh. We just simply care that the waitress improves and sees to it that guests come first and the problem will always be solved with the waitress and staff showing to the guest they truly care.
