UPDATE: I'm amending this review and chalking the prior one up to an anomaly or the planets not being in alignment on the past occasion.
MUCH BETTER experience a few weeks back. It was trivia night, and our team (despite losing) had an absolute blast. The service was friendly and top-notch. Drinks were available both inside the bar and out in the ample food truck/patio space.
The trivia hosts were awesome, the volume and quality of the PA system just right, and we were all smiles when the night was over.
Nicely done, Silver Moon! Glad I went back!
OLD REVIEW: One of the most bizarre experiences I've ever had.
Arrived at Silver Moon around 4:30p; meeting friends to catch up and have drinks/appetizers.
Seeing that a band was setting up in the outside patio area, I texted my friends that I'd prefer to meet inside so we didn't have to shout at one another.
I incorrectly assumed that we'd be able to order food and drinks in their bar. I was informed they didn't start serving inside until 6p, but that I was welcome to get a drink outside and bring it in.
After having our drink, my friends and I decided we'd like to hit up one of the patio's outdoor food carts. While deciding which cart to order from, a large man with SECURITY emblazoned across his shirt informed us that the concert was a ticketed event and that we would have to leave, as the band was going to start at 5:30p.
I informed him we were going to order and take our food inside. He rebuffed my reply and said that wouldn't be possible.
Frustrated, I went back in to see if my group had any recourse.
When I quizzed the female bartender about why we're not allowed to order food outside after the inside crew said we could, she replied, "I don't know anything, I only work here." She said it twice.
I told my friends we should leave and go to Brother Jon's down the street. While trying to leave, we were essentially accosted by a guy who, by the way he spoke, seemed like an off-duty employee. He rambled on and on and on about how the food carts were separate businesses, and the band/security was a separate entity, etc.
After about two minutes, I'd had enough. I put my hand on his shoulder, told him that all we want is some food and we're leaving now to get it. He kept rambling.
Eventually, we were able to ditch him and leave.
Next week, another friend wants to meet there. I just emailed him and have suggested we go...
Read moreStopped by last night (12-30-19) with my wife and 2 friends. The beer is on point, the environment in the place is always bumping and they often have a good live music line up. I was kind of surprised that more then half of their beers were 86'ed from the menu which was kind of disappointing, but it was their 3 dollar pint night so I guess I cant be that upset. I ended up with a Vienna lager, which was great. Our server didn't ask us if we wanted food, or leave us a menu, which I thought was odd, but we were just there for drinks anyways. It was quite busy inside so the four of us decided to hang out on the brand new patio and fire pit out back. It was quite nice, but what is up with that giant old sink? New age art deco representation of the struggling middle class? Boat anchor? I don't know if they had recently had a strong man competition or this fell off a truck from the parkway, but it did not make a comfy...
Read moreOverall I had a decent experience here, but I overheard a very distressing display of poor customer service from one of the waiters at this establishment which ruined an otherwise passable evening as well as the image of this brewery. A nice lady and her husband were using a coupon and a gift card (which was too old for their system but she claimed it had ten dollars left) to buy a set of beers for themselves. The waiter initially pushed back on the gift card, refusing to honor it. After much reasonable pushback he took the gift card and served the drinks. When they went to check out, she asked for the gift card and the remaining three dollars back. The waiter snobbily made a remark about using it again to get a free beer. The woman promptly folded the tip money she was ready to extend and left. Don’t think I want to return here if this is the service I could receive at any...
