The Bend Visitor Center in downtown offers a state-of-the-art visitor center experience with a friendly team of “Bend Experts” here to help you make the most of your vacation in Bend. Check your email at our iPad stations, shop for cool Bend souvenirs like the famous Bend Ale Trail tees along with select brews and wine from local craft breweries and micro-wineries, and even nab an original painting as a memento of your Bend vacation.

Open daily all summer and Monday through Saturday during the winter months, stop by to pick up a FREE Bend visitor guide, trail maps for hiking and biking, suggestions on not-to-miss activities, and more.

Bend’s Art & Soul: Pillars of Art Visit Bend is covered in graffiti. Believe it or not, that’s something to celebrate. The Pillars of Art program is a pop up art gallery located in the Bend Visitor Center. Visit Bend launched the Pillars of Art program to give tourists a close-up look at Bend’s unique arts and culture scene and it’s a fun way to support emerging local artists. Every six months, a different artist creates chalk drawings on the cement pillars in the lobby. The artist also gets to showcase and sell their art. Think of it like a gallery with a twist.

We visited on Wednesday afternoon. After walking in and looking around, the two employees that were actively chatting with one another finally gave us a weak "welcome in." That was it, no "How can we help you? or What are you looking for?" The two women just took up their conversation between themselves and totally ignored us. Eventually, I asked if the employees were with the Info Center, which they confirmed. The info that I wanted (brochure on scenic drives) was no longer being printed but could be obtained online, which I already knew. Most of the literature was heavily advertisement. One brochure on local concerts looked interesting but was outdated by several months. I didn't find the "Info Center" informative nor welcoming. Very disappointed in the attitude of the employee at Bend Visitor’s Center. He was very condescending. I live in Bend. When family comes to town a fun activity is to complete a portion of the “Ale Trail”. We went to the Visitor’s Center to get our cup. My family member said “we take this very seriously” with enthusiasm. The employee said “you and 40,000 other people. If I had a dime for every person that says that”. Rude. She was excited. His attitude was the opposite of somebody working at the welcome center. If you don’t like people being enthusiastic about the “Ale Trail”, an activity that Bend Visitor’s Center highly promotes, maybe find another place to work. Very...
