We loved the Oxford hotel! Absolute gem of a place in Bend, a gem of a town. We stayed over the weekend in mid-October of 2021.
Parking garage is attached to the hotel, self-park for $10/day at the time of our visit. Pro Tip... When you enter the garage, don't go up... Go down one level. There were always spots open AND there is an entrance to the hotel available at the bottom of the garage, in addition to a thruway to the street.
Pros:
Great location in downtown, walking distance from everything. Great gelato stop nextdoor!
Impeccably clean and beautifully decorated, in addition to being an ECO-FRIENDLY hotel!
PET-FRIENDLY suite available, according to the sign in the elevator. Not sure if it's one specific suite or various ones, but the option is definitely there. Huge pro to those who, like me, are unhealthily obsessed with their dogs and can literally feel their souls withering while away from them. Lol.
Great room amenities and toiletries on offer (loved the soap menu!), the pillow menu, the coffee containers, french press, etc. The extra blanket in dresser was AMAZING, and I'm buying one as soon as I get home! Two free beers and free apples in room on check-in. Also, cool couch in front of the window in our room, great for lounging (not sure if this is in all rooms).
Beautiful bathroom (in our room, not sure how all rooms are) featuring a modern shower stall and a large, deep tub. Very nice feature!
Small kitchenette in the room with microwave, fridge, glassware and sink.
Every morning, there was free breakfast options on a table near the elevator (almond milk, cereals, fruit). Pick what you like for free!
Great gym, steam room, sauna, and hot tub on floor 7.
An easily overlooked but amazing amenity is the space age, totally free laundry facility, also on floor 7. We refreshed all our clothes during our visit. They had a cool soap selection, too. Despite only one washer and dryer, we had no trouble doing 2 loads of laundry.
Restaurant food was on the pricy side, but absolutely delicious, so well worth it.
COVID compliant staff and public areas. Well done!
Cons:
Not much of a view, if that's your kind of thing. Our room overlooked the street and the restaurant nextdoor. We keep the curtains closed most often, so not a big deal for us.
During our limited interactions with the staff, while they were certainly always friendly and welcoming, they didn't seem to be incredibly knowledgeable of the area, or perhaps just unble to convey that knowledge to us clearly (such as a concierge would, for instance). They were totally passable, but as this hotel exceeds in so many categories I'd have expected a bit more in this area. My husband loves to get tips and off-beat suggestions from the locals whenever we travel, as we aren't huge on touristy stuff.
Restaurant bathroom is in hotel lower lobby level, which is nitpicky, but is just kind of weird. They're constrained by the property, obviously, but just a weird architectural note.
Despite having a kitchenette, there were no plates or flatware in room by default. We called down to have some brought up, but always feel annoying when we need to do stuff like that, so having this in-room from the jump would be a nice improvement.
Not much else really in the cons department! We LOVED Bend, we loved the Oxford Hotel, and were very happy with our visit. Will definitely recommend and would visit again! Thanks for...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I come here at least three times a year and for the past year when we come there is a maintenance person named Dyane who has been a god send. When we come I always see her going in and out of rooms taking care of people. We needed help casting to the TV and I call to the front desk thinking they would be awhile like it has in the past so I started to read a book. No more than a min later there is a knock and I open it and there she is with a huge smile "Hi im Dyane I was told you needed some help casting, she came in and was done in five min then she asked if we needed anything else, she was such a pleasure that I was trying to think of stuff that we might need. She is was so nice everytime we have come she has been there eager to help. Well we came last week and to my sadness found out she no longer works for the oxford, I don't know what happened but big mistake letting her go surely something could have been worked out. I have been in customer service most of my life and am a manager of a local store and I find that you can hire anyone to fill a position and that usually is what you get someone a body to fill the slot, but you find someone who actually likes there job tells the people just how wonderful the hotel is shows all the special perks and helps when needed and with a smile that is rare and you do what is needed to fix any problem with that employee because good employees loyal employees and friendly employees are hard to come by. I can see that the people you have hired are not fast, efficient, . That said I needed some extra towels I saw a maintenance man in the hallway I asked for some extra towels and barely stopped to talk to me said call the front desk I was shocked because Dyane would have gone and got them, and has in the past. So needless to say, I was quite sad this last trip because she wasn't there, this is going to effect our future trips to bend. What a huge loss for your hotel, she was the best and just got a small taste in the hallway when I asked for towels. If she was my employee I would do what I could to get her back, she is such an asset to your hotel and this just saddens me. ...

Tons of attention to detail in the rooms and in the service. They had an entire welcome kit for our pet. They also brought us a new bag, every single morning, for pet waste.
Room has lots of amenities like French press and ground coffee which was an amazing way to start the day. They also had all the dishes, utensils, cookware, etc… that you could possibly need
The building is solid. I didn’t hear any doors slamming, floorboards creaking, or footsteps from above. Super quiet stay which I loved.
The parking information online for this hotel and the downtown area in general is very outdated. The easiest option is just to valet for $32/night. But if you’re stubborn like me and/or don’t like valet, you can do the following:
The adjacent parking garage does not allow overnight parking — but you can park there during the day and then just re-park your car on the streets at night after 8pm (free). You do get two free hours of street parking so technically you can street park it at 6pm and just leave it. This worked well for us because our car was parked all day at the Mt. Bachelor Park N Ride anyways. We got back in the evening, street parked (many times directly in front of the hotel) and were fine
My only criticism is the revolving door at the entrance is terrible. It’s so small it can’t fit any luggage and the two side doors are a little awkward. Most people just end up using the ADA door.
Awesome hotel. Would gladly use it again. If anyone is curious, we just drove to the Mt Bachelor Park & Ride (5 minute drive from this hotel) and took the bus to Mt Bachelor and it...
