Pho Le — Restaurant in Berlin Township

I’m giving this place 2 stars because though the food was terrible, the waiter was extremely nice. I’ve had Pho at many different Vietnamese restaurants, but this by far was the worse.

I ordered the following:

Papaya salad - had a terrible aftertaste that I couldn’t stomach. Even after drenching it in the sauce that it came with, it didn’t taste fresh or palatable.

Summer Rolls - you are basically paying for lettuce. The rolls consisted of 90% lettuce, 5% noodles, 2.5% shrimp, 2.5% air - wrapped in rice paper. Very bland with no flavor whatsoever. I guess the flavors are in the peanut sauce they give you, but even with that, it was just a waste.

Beef Pho - The bowl contained about 5 slithers of beef that were gray in color and tough in texture. The broth just didn’t do it for me. I could taste sugar with very little umami flavor. The broth is supposed to be the best part, but unfortunately after having some really good/authentic Pho in the past, this didn’t even come close.

Thai Bubble Tea - this was surprisingly good and the star of the show. I would be OK with coming back just to order this to go.

I really was excited to eat here.. had the chicken fried rice, pork veggie roll, and my fiance had steamed shrimp and chicken with veggies.. to start he asked for the veggies on the side.. they said yes but didnt do it.. we found out why.. there was 3 tiny shreds of chicken (which isnt expensive) and 6 peices of baby shrimp (which is expensive) ..they were trying to hid how cheap they were with the meat by covering it with a lot of veggies ....

On top of all of this.. i got food poisoning. The food tasted great..it really did.. yet a few hours after i ate i woke up puking and shaking with cold sweats running thru my whole body.. it was horrible.. its been 3 days since i ate there and i still cant eat much.. i feel so weak its not even funny.. i wish them luck if this was just a fluke..yet being poisoned only happens when u dont properly take care of the food u put into peoples body.. i will never EVER come back here. Worst food experience of my life.. be very wary of what u order there if u do. Bc i thought the food was fine till i ended up in...

The pho here is amazing. I started out with the Vietnamese coffee. Nice and strong and not overpowered with the ice.

I ordered the number 17 deluxe noodle soup.

When I visit a pho restaurant for the first time, I usually only order the soup because I want to test out how good the restaurant is and you can tell that by how good their Pho soup is.

The broth was amazing! A really nice delicate broth with a lot of meat in it. Everybody likes that. The onions and scallions were sliced very thin and enhanced the taste of the soup. The fixings they gave you were clean and fresh.

The service was very quick and speedy. They even asked me how I was enjoying my meal.

I plan on coming back to taste the bun cha. I'm glad we finally have a restaurant that serves pho in this area. I highly recommend this place. It's just as good as the places in Cherry Hill...
