I want to start by saying my wife and I are regular customers here, so much so that we know all the waitstaff and managers, and they recognize us as well. Normally, the service and food are decent. We don’t get an overabundance of attention, and occasionally have to flag our server down. Most of the time the food comes out great, but it has been slipping lately on quality.
Today my wife took me out to eat here for Veterans Day as she knew they were giving a meal to vets. They were very busy as one might expect, but there is no excuse for anyone to have the abysmal experience we just had there today.
The highlight of our visit for me was waiting to be seated; at least we had other friendly faces to talk to. We were seated rather quickly for a busy day; about 20 minutes. From there it didn’t just go down hill, it fell off a cliff and didn’t recover.
We were placed in the back area where a few others were, and at first we were pleased with the area as it gave room for our baby to be comfortable. However, come to find out, there were no servers assigned to our table. It took nearly 30 minutes for anyone to even notice us, and it wasn’t until I was standing up to get ready to leave that the manager came and sent us a waitress right away. She came and took our order for drinks and food, brought back the drink, but then she was MIA in our section for the longest. We saw her working at other tables, but no visits to our side unless I flagged her down.
To make matters more frustrating, a couple, which arrived after we did, and was seated after we were, ordered, ate, and left before we even saw our waitress again. Another 30 minutes passed, and we were ready to leave again. My baby was fussy by this point, and we had a total of about an hour and a half stay without any food.
I thought I would give it one last shot. So, I went and found our waitress, and asked her if there was any hopes of getting our food soon. She said she would ask after she put in the order she was working on, and that she had checked a few minutes earlier and the kitchen staff said they were “working on it.” Another 15 minutes later, the food finally arrives with a quick drop and go sweep that left us tracking her down again for other things we needed, that should have been provided without asking like napkins.
The food was absolutely horrible. The only reason I didn’t make a fuss about it is that it was a free meal for me. Both my wife and I’s food arrived cold, like room temperature. My pancakes were mush because the flavored syrup had already soaked all the way through to the plate. I had scrambled eggs that were almost completely uncooked on the bottom. My 2 bacon strips were cold and hard, and the fruit cup I ordered was replaced by sliced strawberries which wasn’t mentioned until the meal arrived. Sadly, the fruit cup is what I normally share with the baby because she loves eating the oranges, but that didn’t happen.
Overall, I spent $17 on cold food and a drink that took a total of about 2 1/2 hours for what should have been 45 minutes tops on a busy day. I would say if this is ever my experience again, this will be another one crossed of my list of places I...
Read moreMy daughter and I decided to come here for breakfast today. Everything was fine until it was time to get more of the all you can eat pancakes. We waited 20 minutes before the waitress came back to our table to ask if we were ready for the second order, after 20 minutes she asked us from a distance if we received our pancakes, we replied no, however I was wondering why she would ask that question if she was the one that was supposed to bring it to us. So, she brings or pancakes approximately 10 minutes later. When it was time for a third order of pancakes, we were sitting for 40 minutes, thirsty after eating pancakes because not once did she ask us if we wanted refills. By the way, We only ordered water with lemon. Anyhow, another waitress realized that we were not being waited on therefore she was kind enough to ask us if we needed anything. I told her yes and we were waiting for 40+ minutes for service. We asked for our third order of pancakes. So, my daughter finished her pancakes, but we wanted refills of water. So we were waiting, looking and expecting the waitress but again she was no where, approximately 20 minutes went by and finally we spotted her about 7' away from our table she seen us, rolled her eyes but instead of coming to us she stayed talking with a customer about her son and her family life for between 5 - 8 minutes in our plain view as if she was doing that purposely. So she finally comes by the table and we told her we were waiting, and waiting with no refills or service of any kind. So I asked her for a coffee on the house for all the trouble and she gave me an attitude, sucked her teeth and said aight, walked away with an attitude and never apologized to us. Here, is where it gets interesting, my daughter got up to use the rest room but before she got there she over heard the waitress yelling saying, "I'm not going back to that table, she wants a coffee, you take it to her" surely it came back to us but not by her but by the waitress that noticed we were not being served. And my daughter told that waitress that she heard what was said about us. And she replied "don't worry about her she is just agitated." For what, we still don't know. WE ARE THERE FOR ABOUT 5 MIN AND ALL THE SURROUNDING TABLES BEGIN TO LEAVE AS WE ARE PLACING OUR ORDER....A CLASSIC BURGER, W STRAWBEERY CHEESECAME PANCAKES AND SIRLOIN TIPS. AFTER A LONG ALMOST 15 MIN WAIT FOR MY UNDERCOOKED BURGER AND WARM FRIES, I HAVE TO WAIT TO FLAG DOWN OUR WAITRESS, MIND YOU WE ARE THEEE ONLY PEOPLE THERE!!! BUT ALL THIS LAGHTER AND COMMOTION IN THE KITCHEN!!! I TELL THE YOUNG WAITRESS THAT MY BURGER IS UNDERCOOKED AND NOT HOT AND COULD I PLEASE GET A TURKEY WRAP, SO AGAIN THAT TAKES ANOTHER 15 MIN WHEN AGAIN THERE ARE NO OTHER PATRONS IN THIS IHOP. SO PLEASE TELL ME HOW DOES IT TAKE THAT LONG! SO AT THIS POINT MY HUSBAND IS DONE EATING AND I HAVE NO APPETITE SO WE ASK FOR CHECK AND BOXES. WHEN I QUESTION WHY IT TOOK SO LONG IF WE ARE ONLY PEOPLE, SHE SEEMS CLUELESS AND DUMBFOUNDED! WHEN WE ASK THE RENT-A-MANAGER WHY A WRAP TAKES 15 MIN SHE SARCASTICALLY ANSWERS THAT IT NEEDS TO BE MADE! OBVIOUSLY YOUR STAFF NEEDS TO BE RETRAINED BY A MORE PROFESSIONAL EDUCATED MANAGER. SHE CLAIMS SHE IS UNAWARE OF THE BURGER ISSUE BUT UR THE MANAGER, HOW IS THAT OK. SHE DOESNT EVEN OFFER ANY APOLOGIES WHAT SO EVER, OR FEEL BAD AT ALL SHE JUST KEPT SAYING SHE DIDNT KNOW ETC. I WOULDNT MIND SO MUCH IF THIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME BUT WE FREQUENT WITH MY FAMILY JUST ABOUT EVER WKND. ITS SAD HOW PEOPLE DONT CARE, OR MAYBE IT WAS DUE TO OUR ETHNICITY!
