Updated review for our 27 Sept 2024 visit:
We have eaten here often over the past year and a half or so, and haven't had any issues with what seems to be food poisoning, until this visit. Half an hour to an hour after we began eating, we were both not doing well. I'll save you all the gory details, of course, but having only one bathroom is rough in times like these. We were both fine until we ate; I ate my salad, he ate his cheese bread, and we both had a quarter each of the pizza... so it wasn't anything else we'd had that day. I think it's fair to assume it was the pizza that ruined our night since we both ate some of it.
What happened, Dion's? I sure hope no one else dealt with this all night like we did. It was good food, but not worth the tummy troubles.
Update 8 Aug: My son and I dined in mid-afternoon on 2 Aug, and everything was perfect, including all three of the employees that helped me over the course of our visit.
Big shoutout to the drive-thru gal whom assisted me when the two ladies that had previously helped me were busy; not only did she take care of my to-go box needs, but she also recommended the tattoo artist that did her amazing dark mark piece and was also the one to wish us a good day when we left. I just love this location so much!
The pizza was just as amazing as ever and still very much so leftover. My son loved it and went nuts over the Ranch, lol.
See two new photos from that visit. :)
Original review: I've been to this location twice in three months, and it was amazing both times! However, this review will be based off of my most recent visit.
Using the online ordering is so simple, and my order was ready on time when I showed up to get it. I used the drive-thru for pick-up; the girl working the window was lovely! Very quick and friendly service.
The food... oh, the food! Their salads have always been so good, but I swear they've gotten even better since first had one over a decade ago. The best part is being able to customize them instead of it being pre-made. I chose the full-size chef salad, without the cherry tomatoes, and spinach + Romaine rather than iceberg lettuce. It was made perfectly and so delicious - even the next day for leftovers! I got the green chile Ranch to go on it, and it added a nice little kick. It was also my first time trying that dressing, and I hate that it took so long - it's beyond perfect! For my pizza, I chose a medium 505, and it was made so well. It had the perfect amount of toppings, it was hot and fresh, and the best part was how good the crust still was when I ate leftover cold pizza the next day! Usually pizza crusts dry out and are just so unpleasant to eat when refrigerated, but not Dion's crust! I also got a bottle of their famous regular Ranch to enjoy with my pizza; they still go perfectly together!
I'll be coming back to this location in the future, and highly recommend you eat here if you haven't already. This is the best Dion's I've been to in my entire...
Read moreMy wife and I were excited because Dion’s is one of the closest restaurants to the resort we are staying at and we love your salads and subs - my wife gets them once a week at work, so we are big fans! We asked for recommendations and were told that the carnivore pizza was a top seller and should be tried, as well as the cheese bread. We received our order and sat down to eat - salad was delicious and fresh as usual, cheese bread is good, but the pizza was honestly terrible. So we continues to work on our meal and I can’t even get 2 full slices of the pizza down. We were asked twice about to go containers by someone walking around and I said “no thank you” to a pizza box, to which she responded “are you sure? There’s a lot left!” But did not ask about it or send a manager by- my wife convinces me to go to the front and say something and order a sandwich to go because we know they are delicious. I went up and Lexy is who met me and seemed perplexed that I was standing there with 3/4 of a pizza still - I explained that the pizza wasn’t good and that I wanted to order a sandwich. She grabbed the pizza and took it back into the kitchen (surprising with current COVID restrictions) but first said “thats’s interesting our pizzas are really good.” We walked over to the register, I paid for my large sandwich, and asked to speak to a manager to address the pizza. No manager came out so I went and stood by the front and she pointed through the barrier and said “he’s back here.” (Am I supposed to jump the counter?) I start speaking to Jax but realize there is no concern and at this point don’t have faith in this location - so I asked for a refund on my sandwich, he argued with me and said there was nothing wrong with the sandwich - I explained that I haven’t received it and no longer want it. So I finally get a refund for my sandwich, still no concern about the Carnivore pizza, and leave.
Honestly I somewhat expected some concern for that fact that I had an untouched pizza and a complaint- but there was none. I don’t even paid for my replacement meal - but that still did not click for Jax. Very sad because we come about once a month to this resort and this was the closest location- we went down the street and ordered something else.
I would avoid this location, the customer service is appalling, and I will not ever order another carnivore pizza from Dion’s - there should have been an offer to refund/replace my $15 pizza or some level of concern -...
Read moreThe first time this happened I decided not to write a review because I figured the workers were just slammed and I'm not going to complain as someone who has worked in the customer service industry before BUT this time there is no excuse for what happened.
I placed an order into Dions system online at 5:34 pm on a Saturday for two salads, one full and one half. When placing the order I knew it was a busy time so I was willing to be patient and understanding. So my girlfriend and I arrive at about 6:00pm which is more than enough time as the order app said it would only take 15 mins and see there is a long line for the drive thru and decided to go inside. Upon talking to the person at the front they let us know our salads weren't ready yet and offered us drinks which we politely declined and sat down.
We sat down at 6:04pm. At 6:28 pm our salads were done. It took a full crew nearly an hour to make TWO salads. I was upset and let the manager know instantly to which he offered that the next salads we order are free which was nice of him.
Upon getting home however I come to find out that they messed up my salad order. I can understand being slammed and it take a bit longer than usual to complete orders but when it takes you nearly an hour to complete two salads and STILL manage to mess one of them up is beyond my comprehension. I think I am going to take a LONG break from Dions before I ever consider ordering...
