We came to La Scala for a late Valentine’s Day celebration on Feb 15th. There is a lot to say about this place. I will start with food. We ordered fried mozzarella, eggplant as appetizers, and one mushroom ravioli plate to share because I wasn’t fully hungry. The appetizers and the sauces on them were delicious. The ravioli plate, though, wasn’t as impressive as I was expecting. There was literally 6 ravioli pieces on the plate with some another amazing sauce on it. But the presentation was very weak and the amount of the food wasn’t satisfying for what you pay for it. After we were done eating, our waiter asked if we had any concerns, I told him that ravioli was a disappointment. He said he will tell that to kitchen. I wonder if they are going to change anything though. For this reason I am giving 4 stars. If they improve their plate, I can improve my rating too! Enough with the food. I like the ambiance very much. Low lights, candles on tables, bar looks shinier than the rest of the place. The artwork on the walls are pretty. They have some outside sitting area also. Parking is a b*tch in this area. I was lucky to find a metered spot on the same block after some touring around. Overall, it’s a very nice date location with $$$ sign.

Location in Beverly Hills was great. Valet parking and close to Rodeo Drive. It was O-KAY. The salad wasn't impressive. Not a lot of flavours. Lots of beans and peas and I'm sure it was healthy but it just lacked flavours. The clam linguini was a large serving which I couldn't finish but the sauce was just too runny for my liking. I typically like a thicker, richer sauce for the linguini. So it tasted like I was just eating naked noodles with clams on the side. I'm sure the valet parking cost as much as one dish. But oh well. It was an interesting restaurant - I felt like I was in some American ranch.

Had the Moscow Mule drink, crab cake entree, original chopped salad and chicken & mascarpone ravioli. The drink & ravioli were the nicest. Not fond of the crab cake, normally am not though. We had to try their original chopped salad. Found it too sour, not enough meat and too 'chopped' so it was a bit soggy. Decor a bit dated but maybe then that's its appeal. Service impeccable 'cos you know, 'murica.

I don't even know where to begin. This place has THE WORST customer service and food. I WAS IGNORED AFTER BEING FORCED TO PAY FOR DOG FOOD. I ordered the Bolognese (honestly a mistake because I should have looked at some of the reviews on here first) but the Bolognese is basically some over cooked thin spaghetti noodles with ground beef meat and a few sprinkled tomatoes throughout your pasta. Yes sometimes things look different than they taste but this was not the case. It tasted like meat seasoned with salt and pepper, over cooked noodles and no taste of tomato at all. After taking two bites, I could not eat anymore so I tried to get ahold of my waiter but it was busy (no I don't blame that they were busy at all) so instead I asked another employee if they could get ahold of him for me. He responded with "Go ask your waiter." I thought to myself ok maybe he didn't understand what I said so I waited another 5 minutes until another waiter was free (yes still no sign of my waiter after 10 minutes). At this point I said can I please speak to a manager I know you guys are busy ,but I have been trying to get a hold of my waiter to possibly change my meal and it's been quite some time now. Immediately he tells he that he does not understand why I am telling him this he has no authority to do anything and that our policy is our policy. Also, that my waiter is the manager and he is waiting 7 other table (he obviously counted and pointed out each table) Um ok? At this point I am very confused and mad because he is continuing to argue with me and I still have not talked to my waiter. Additionally, all the tables around me are staring and I am completely embarrassed of how people can be so rude to paying customers. Anyway I guess this waiter told my waiter the problem I had with my meal, so he comes over and explains to me that I can order something else ,but since I already ordered this I had to pay for it. He said that our policy is we can not take food back unless it is our fault not because I don't like something and that he can give me the corporate number. I told him it was not a matter that I didn't like it but it was not Bolognese, it was meat not meat sauce with spaghetti! He said well that's the way we make it he explained that they also add chili pepper flakes with is a lie because there was no sight of the flakes or the taste. He said he could bring me more sauce but that just proves the meat and sauce are not cooked in the same pot which is not how traditional Bolognese is made. The people at my table said it was fine and that they would pay for it because it wasn't worth arguing with such rude people. However, now tables around me where saying to the staff you really aren't going to change her meal, what is that? I just felt embarrassed by how I was being treated and just wanted to leave the restaurant. A person clears our table and we ask him to get the check, and I told him to tell my waiter that he needs to know I didn't eat my meal (knowing that I still had to pay for it). He rudely says ok, and another 15 minutes go by without our check. My waiter comes back and asks my table if we want coffee (knowing we were disturbed and wanted to leave) but we tell him we just want the check. He comes back to give us the check, I said to him you know this policy, but before I could finish my sentence he walks away as he is rolling his eyes!!! How do you call yourself a manager if you can't listen to customer complaints! I know that he didn't come up with the policy ,but it is your job as a manager to be somewhat apologetic because anyone that has been to a reasonable restaurant has NEVER experienced such a policy. He completely and purposely ignored me for no reason after I paid for something I didn't even eat!!! Anyway I try to brush it off and when he comes back to give us our change I said actually can I have the corporate number , and once again before I can get out the full sentence he ignores me AGAIN, and by the time I look up he is waiting on another table. Still did not...

It's sad to see this restaurant with so much potential get the reputation they have due to staff. If I could I would give this restaurant negative stars. If your ordering food here be prepared to wait up to two hours. I deliver food for postmates and I had three orders at once from this restaurant. The waitress; Gaby or Gabrielle, hadn't seen the second order; at all, and barely put in my order once I got there. She apologized and I didnt mind waiting, so all was well. There goes 20 minutes. Once the food was ready I told her of the other order I had just received which was a simple spaghetti that came in. She took my phone, saw the order, got the bags, and said that the third order was all ready. I had around 8 bags filled with food (and a drink she almost forgot) so I couldn't check right away. I waddled to my car and double checked the orders, only to see the last order she gave me was wrong.. It was a three course meal when the customer only orderd spaghetti and bread. I went inside and told her the issue and she replied that the order she gave me was correct. I assured her it wasnt, but because I had already accepted the request I couldn't see the order on my phone. I just remembered the client's name and that he ordered spaghetti with bread. She had given me order #290 which was wrong. I had orders #286 and #287 (which she made me wait for) and a man just picked up #288. I told her I was positive that the order must've been #289 and If she could check if the order had spaghetti with bread (specifically with tomato and basil on the side) and she said "nope order 289 is Turkey leg". She gave me no options for help. I couldn't even call the customer because once you complete the request you only get the contact information of the first order and he was my third stop! I had to delivery the first two orders, was finally able to see his order (IT WAS ORDER 289) and texted him apologizing for the lateness. I had to go ALL THE WAY BACK to the restaurant to see the same waitress. Just for her to tell me "so it was order 289?" I said.. yes. She looked in the system, looked through the bags, and asked for my phone to get the order again. While I was sitting there for the third time waiting for this food, it came to me that the reason she didnt see the order I was looking for in the system was because SHE HAD NEVER PUT THE ORDER IN, JUST LIKE MY SECOND ORDER FROM THE BEGINING. A SIMPLE PICK UP ELONGATED TO 2 HOURS. And in the end, she didnt even apologize, instead she gave me attitude as if it was my fault. What a terrible experience, and seeing from the other comments, I'm not the only person who believes the restaurant needs better staff. If you want better reviews, please get this waitress away from the front end or ordering station. :/ I've never had to write a bad review in my life but this takes the cake. I'll be telling everyone to be wary of this place until better staff is found😥 ...

I was doing uber food deliveries the night of January 12th and came here for a pickup at the end of the night kind of late around 10pm. The manager was there waiting at the bar and greeted me while another waiter went back to collect the food order. The manager indicated they were waiting for me since it was their last delivery too. It was just a few minutes considering he came back with 3 large brown bags of food which included spagetti, veal parm, fettucine alfredo, garlic bread and a number of other other items. I left feeling happy as this was one of my last deliveries after a full 10 hour day (Standard for me so i can save money for med school and my rent etc). I went to Inglewood to deliver the food and when i got to the recipient they did not answer the door, reply to texts, or phone calls. After contacting uber support uber allowed me to cancel the order and I still got paid and in addition uber said that I could do whatever I wanted with the food order bc there was no place to leave it which guaranteed it would not be wasted. The delivery also required a pin number so they are handled a bit differently when the customer cannot be found. Soo heres the best part that I hope to share with La Scala and its customers - I was able to take all of this delicious food and distribute to homeless persons who may otherwise go hungry. So I hope La Scala managers and owners and staff know that on Jan 12th they directly helped feed the less fortunate and the food they prepared was put to good use and not wasted. Even if I left all the food on the street or by the trash someone would have found and eaten it but I just wanted to make sure you guys know that after uber greenlit the cancellation that your food was not wasted and you helped feed the less fortunate. Hopefully they enjoyed the food you prepared that night as they might not have gotten the opportunity otherwise and hopefully you sleep well tonight knowing what a good thing you were able to do for the people of Los Angeles. Thank you to those involved for making the food with such care and allowing this to happen...
