One star only and it goes to the first waitress/hostess we encountered; otherwise the service was absolutely abysmal. My friend and I walked in at around 4pm on a Friday and there were maybe five or six tables with customers. We were quickly greeted by a friendly waitress/ hostess who gave us menus and told us we were welcome to sit anywhere at the bar (which we requested). The bar top was filthy; we struggled to find two seats without any crumbs, spilled liquid, or sticky mystery goo, and eventually sat down at the least offensive spot. There were three employees walking back and forth right in front of us, but in the whole time we sat there, not one of them bothered to greet us or clean off the bar, let alone ask us what we'd like to drink. We started to wonder if we were invisible, considering there was only one other person sitting at the bar! I eventually grabbed some napkins and wiped down the spot in front of us because, apparently, no one else was going to do it. There was clearly some stress and tension with lots of bickering between the employees and it may have been a shift change happening; but that's still no excuse for not at least acknowledging us and maybe saying something like "Welcome in, we're in the middle of a shift change, but we'll be with you shortly". We're very easy-going, patient customers and would have been fine with that. The last straw was when one of employees (redheaded man) got so angry that he SLAMMED down a cocktail shaker on the bar right next to us. We looked at each other, said "Nope", got up and walked out. Too bad, because the menu looks really good. (But if the front of house is this bad, what's happening in the kitchen???) With so many other options in Biddeford where our patronage is actually valued, I see no reason to...
Read moreI definitely think it’s a hit or miss with Brickyard Hollow. My experience here has been inconsistent depending on the staff working that day.
The last time I visited, it was honestly disappointing. The hostess was incredibly rude and had a really off-putting attitude. After reading other reviews, it seems like I’m not the only one who’s had a negative experience with the front-of-house staff. Our server that day also seemed uninterested and inattentive, and to top it off, I saw multiple employees going outside to smoke during our visit, which didn’t give the best impression.
That being said, my most recent visit was a complete 180. From the moment we walked in, the hostess greeted us with a warm, genuine smile and actually took the time to chat with us. We had a party of 8, and she went out of her way to combine tables so we could all sit together comfortably. Our server was kind, patient, and made us feel really taken care of. The food came out hot and fresh, and the vibe was completely different—in the best way. I would give my most recent experience 5 stars, my past one -0 if I could.
So overall, Brickyard Hollow can be a great spot, but it really depends on the day and the team that’s working. When the right staff is on, it’s a wonderful experience. But when they’re off, it can fall flat. I’d give it another try, but just know what you’re walking...
Read moreBrickyard Hollow isn’t just a brewery, it’s an experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly blends modern charm with rustic Maine character. Whether you’re coming in for a quick bite or a long, relaxed dinner with friends, this spot delivers on every front.
Let’s talk about the food, incredible. The artisan pizzas are on another level. Each one is thoughtfully crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and the crust? Perfectly crisped on the outside with just the right chew inside. Personal favorites include the “Woodsman” with its savory sausage and earthy mushrooms, and the “Coastal” that brings a fresh, zesty punch with lemon ricotta and arugula.
Their rotating tap list is also worth celebrating. As a local brewery, Brickyard Hollow’s beers are smooth, creative, and pair perfectly with the menu. The staff knows their stuff too, they’ll happily recommend the perfect pint for your meal. Service here is top-notch: friendly, and genuinely welcoming. It’s clear the team cares about every customer’s experience.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Brickyard Hollow is a must-visit. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back, not just for the food, but for the vibe, the people, and the unmistakable sense that you’ve found...
