I hate to give such a low rating but the only saving grace was the staff.
I arrived at the establishment at 17:15. The bar staff was extremely friendly with the exception of one. When asked what I was drinking I informed them i did not know exactly as I had asked the previous bartender to pick. The look I was given was that as though i was wasting their time. I decided to relax and enjoy the insanely crazy atmosphere. This place was very packed for 5 o'clock.
The bartenders were very attentive to the patrons at the bar while obviously keeping the demands of the restaurant. The down fall came once i decided to order food. I went with the 16 oz ribeye, no side, and house salad. A rather simple order for the $39.95 price tag.
The house salad came out within minutes (18:11). It was a very well prepared salad. I would expect the quick response on a salad. I ended up ordering another beer to pass the time.
After 30 minutes of waiting i placed my card on the bar (18:40) to close my tab. It was at this point the bar staff asked for someone to check the status of my main course. They ran my card and I closed out. It was at this point the steak was placed in front of me (18:45) and the bar staff informed me they would get me a box. Had that not happened I was on my way out with or without the items ordered.
I understand long ticket times during a rush. But I would hope given the price paid and the amazing atmosphere this would be under control or watched closer. At the end of it all I did enjoy a very well made steak in my hotel room. I would have preferred staying at the restaurant for that but that did not pan out.
At the end of it all great atmosphere, very nice staff, nice facility, and super packed. Just would hope fore better ticket times and or updates on the status of my order. A simple communication of "I am sorry for the delay but our kitchen is slammed and it will be out shortly" would have saved this entire experience. Running a multi state service organization I have this same discussion with my employees on the importance of communication with...
Read moreThis used to be a great place to eat. We stopped there a few years ago while visiting family and the food, service and experience was great. So good that we went out of our way to go again while traveling through the area once more. When we arrived, around 815-830pm the restaurant was about half full.
The bartender that served us, she was great and very attentive. The other bartender poured my wife a drink that was on the bar menu that was so sweet, we had to send it back. Maybe he mixed up the gin with the simple syrup.? Got a beer instead.
Pot stickers took a good 15 minutes and the bartender apologized a few times but when they arrived they were very good.
A man sitting next to us in the bar had chips and a few drinks and I thought he was just hanging out but his entree took about as long as ours and when it did arrive, a grey haired man (a manager) brought it out, said something like,"here you go" and slid it toward the guy from 3' away (not in a fun, I know you, here you go way either) kinda strange to me.
Our meal took another 20 minutes after our appetizer. Our bartender went looking for it. Bacon cheeseburger was good, onion rings cold. Fish n chips were more like popcorn fish and fries. Well over cooked, some dry and inedible. Kind of over done on the outside and gummy on the inside on others. Tartar sauce was good though.
Maybe they are short staffed on the floor and kitchen which is a shame. We probably won't go back.
Just to be clear, the bartender that served our food, she was great. The other bartender, he has a heavy simple syrup hand. The manager was a bit grumpy. The burger was standard and fish n chips...
Read moreWe very rarely leave a bad review. But tonight was just not impressive. The waitress really did try but she was swamped. We tipped because we felt like she gave her best effort and she was very kind. She probably was the only good thing about our experience. This restaurant is not kid/baby friendly. No high chair, no changing tables in the bathroom, no kids menu. Our party was seated at two separate tables so we couldn’t eat together and on top of that we had to take turns passing the baby in order to take a few bites. A high chair would have been appreciated. Our meals came out nearly an hour apart, and tables that seated after us were served and halfway done eating by the time the rest of our party’s food came. The restaurant isn’t allergy friendly. If you have allergies, don’t bother. Not unless you want an unseasoned piece of meat with a plain potato. There are so many other places in town that have fresh, hot, gourmet meals that cater to food allergies. The steak was tough and not a great cut. It was under seasoned and slightly over-cooked. Very tough to chew. The mashed potatoes and fries were very good though. The grilled cheese was also good. The mud pie had a slight taste of freezer as if it had been there for a bit or wasn't properly sealed while frozen. The pecans on it were very good and it looked really nice presentation- wise. For the price point and compared to other similar styled places, this just didn’t cut it. The overall atmosphere was good. It is in a nice area and looks great. It was clean and decorated nicely. The waitress was good. The food and wait though were just...
