Very disappointing experience! We first phoned for a reservation and were told it wasnt needed as they were "dead." We viewed the menu online to decide what we wanted and arrived shortly after 6 pm on a Saturday evening (only 5 tables other than ours seated and 3 of them were couples, one group of 4 and a table of 6). We ordered two appetizers which were not bad at all and two T-bone steaks (most expensive menu item w/a 25 min. wait warning). 10 minutes later we are inforned that they have only one left (how could they only have 1 left the eve before Mothers day at 6:15 pm if they are "dead?"). Enough time had elapsed that we just one of us (my wife) ate. Half way through the steak, (my wife eating with a butter knife) we had to request a steak knife. For such a highly recommended establishment, they will never see our less than smiling faces again. I informed the server to tell the owner who was in the back that we would never return. In my restaurant days as the owner I would have visited the table. But that would have required caring! Not much of a Happy Mothers Day experience. Ended up at Hardees just to satify an...

The Athenian in Billings, Montana, is a beloved local gem that has been serving up authentic Greek cuisine for over 30 years. Stepping inside, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, where the aromas of grilled meats, fresh herbs, and baked pastries promise a delicious meal. While their menu boasts classic Greek dishes like savory gyros, moussaka, and spanakopita, all crafted with care using high-quality ingredients often imported directly from Greece, let's talk about those fries! Many diners rave about the Athenian's fries, often describing them as perfectly cooked – crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They're often seasoned with a delicious blend that perfectly complements the Greek flavors of the other dishes. Whether you're dipping them in their house-made tzatziki sauce or enjoying them on their own, the fries at The Athenian are a standout that elevate the entire dining experience. They truly complete a meal, offering that satisfying crunch and savory flavor that keeps you coming...

I am a European and vacation in Greece every year. But this place hmmmmm is not Greek. The meat is not lambs meat and the sauce they put on the salad is not original either, it was more garlic, they call the sauce zatitie , sorry that is not what you call it and it is made with cucumber garlic oil salt and pepper and yogurt...I was hoping to have a good meal, but the meat was cold and pre-made so no clue if it was fresh , which I don't think it was. The fries they served is not the real Greek style, there they give you fresh sliced potatoes. If you want real food from a country please do your homework. As a Chef myself I would not eat here again. And please get some real waitress that don't walk like a elephant, I started to feel I needed to be on a diet. I have nothing against heavy set people but in a restaurant I do.. Also please put Greek music on instead of from another country too. So you make up your own mind if you like this food, but you sure are not getting the real thing for a...

Definitely not a chain restaurant. There's a wait time but that's what I enjoy. They don't rush anyone out and many folks sit and talk after eating. There's no POS system or technology to order. It's one of the last classic old school restaurants still in Billings. Over 45 years in business and ran daily by the owners. Has made its reputation with this community long before Google reviews even existed. A hidden gem for locals. They don't need to advertise and haven't in decades. Should say enough !! Would recommend saganake , Athenian sampler, stuffed dolmas, veg sample platter, chk northern Greece, zucchini sticks, gyro, and bougatsa roll. Oh and extra sauce 🤤
