I recently found this great place on the way back to Texas from Florida and it was fantastic! I had wanted to get some fresh seafood while near the gulf coast and searched for restaurants in the Biloxi area, but every place I saw had either really bad reviews or was so expensive that it kept me searching. I ran across this place online and I followed the directions to the location near Hwy. 110 in the middle of a huge rainstorm! I wasn't sure what to expect, but the restaurant was very clean, with part of it being a seafood market and the other part being a bar and restaurant. As I ordered at the bar upon entering, I started to order the fried shrimp basket, but Freddy was very accommodating when I asked he could maybe do half shrimp and half oysters. I grabbed a table and sat down and it only took a few minutes for Freddy to deliver a piping hot, generous plate of huge fried oysters and large shrimp, along with golden brown hushpuppies and crispy french fries to my table. It was exactly what I had been wanting, and I found it be very fresh and delicious! Freddy was very nice and offered great service to make sure I had what I needed as I enjoyed my terrific lunch! When I finished, he also very generously provided me with a sample of their incredible seafood gumbo, along with some outstanding crawfish etouffee. I was very amazed at not only their very affordable prices, but the hospitality showed to me on my visit! I wanted to write them a great review, but I was also hesitant to offer up my secret find in the Biloxi area...Lol! I will definitely be going back to enjoy some more wonderful seafood and their great customer service next time I...
Read moreWe came here this afternoon to buy some seafood. We got some fresh live blue crabs and royal red shrimps. It was good except the oysters in the shell. Most of it were opened meaning it was dead. When I was trying to buy it, I told the owner I don’t want the opened ones but he insisted and said it’s fresh and we had a good deal for the price. I think we paid $20 for two dozen that he said it was supposed to be $30 at least. I don’t know because we didn’t see the price breakdown but we paid $92 for 2 dozen of live blue crabs, 2 lbs of royal red shrimps and dead oysters. The people are nice but not it wasn’t worth it to get sick. I grew up eating oysters and never heard eating opened up oyster was totally fine. Hard to argue because we can tell the owner had been drinking. I wasn’t trying to be mean here I just hope this won’t happen to anybody else. The bartender is such a nice guy btw. We still think the place is...
Read moreMy wife and I, recently (16-19 Nov 2022) visited family and friends in the Biloxi/Gulfport areas. As we've done for many years, we always stop-by Desportes Seafood (in Biloxi), to buy fresh seafood to take back home w/us. The selection, quality and the obvious freshness, never disappoints. But what sets Desportes apart from other seafood markets that cater primarily to the public, is there hospitality; they treat there customers just like family, and the overall experience can't be beat - you're leaving their market with fresh seafood, perhaps other products, and possibly had an awesome lunch experience. But the best part about Desportes....you'll leave with a heartfelt thank you and smile from the great folks that take care of you. Always wonderful, thank you and Happy Holidays! Larry & Joni Hyatt,...
