Rusty's Saloon & Grill — Restaurant in Bishop

So I have visited Bishop and this bar several times over the years with my climbing partners, but this is my first visit with my wife. We were met with an over served drinker making fun of us for riding our bikes to the bar. My wife went to the bar to get our drinks and bartender ignored her for at least 5 minutes, making eye contact several times. Besides the bigot wearing bar mech, there were only a few others at the bar. Not sure why we were not served in a timely manner. Never had this with my guy friends, the reviews were great, lots for out of towners, so not sure why us. I can deal with slow service when it is crowded. There’s no better dive bar in Bishop! Great for day drinking and a wild night! The bar staff is super helpful and funny! They recently remodeled half the bar. It doesn’t take away from the “Dive bar ambience”. They still have wacky memorabilia hanging all over the walls. As of recently food is served inside the bar. The restaurant is separate from Rustys but very easy to order and it’s amazing! The prices are very reasonable and the fish taco is top notch! This is a great place to experience some of the local flavor. Many regulars drink here. If you’re nice to them they will give you some tips. I was here for a family memorial/reunion. Family and friends have lived here and recommended Rusty's. I needed a drink. Things have apparently changed a little at this place, but the atmosphere was great. There was darts, shuffle board, and pool. Current sports playing in the back.
