Wow....This place is slowly going downhill in my opinion. Loyal BIG San Antonio family that has been getting pies from this place since we discovered it about 6 yeara ago and have taken the drive out there to pick up ....Have spent alot of money on Thanksgiving pies and Christmas pies thru the.years and the QUALITY and TASTE of the pies has really gone down...BAD ..... The freshness and flavor is really lacking now . Our pies were completely dry this Thanksgiving and what used to be our entire families demolishing them all , resulted in 4 large LEFT OVER pies with hardly any pieces of their pies eaten!! I am only guessing that they are mass producing their pies now in order to capitalize on popularity and make more $$ and are storing them then giving them to you to pickup DAYS AFTER they have been made ...greatly reducing the pies freshness and quality. At 40$ a pie , extremely DISAPPOINTED and will not be going back ever again. You are better off going to HEB or Walmart for your pies around the holidays !! Their staff are very nice people but OWNERSHIP has obviously got greedy in my opinion and forgotten what made them so popular in the first place .
Sincerely,
DISAPPOINTED pie family lovers...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow! How good is this. The Deutsch Apple Bakery in Blanco, Texas, is a charming little spot that hits you with an irresistible wave of freshly baked goodness the moment you step inside. The aroma aloneāwarm, sweet, and invitingāmakes your mouth water and sets the tone for a delightful experience. Theyāre famous for their apple pecan muffins, and for good reason: these treats are perfectly moist, packed with flavor, and a must-try. But honestly, you canāt go wrong here. Close your eyes, point to anything in the display caseābe it a pastry, cookie, or breadāand itās guaranteed to please. Every bite feels like a labor of love from this small-town gem.
The service adds to the charm. The locals behind the counter are genuinely friendly, offering warm smiles and a welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. Itās the kind of place where you can linger, savoring your treat with a cup of coffee, and soak in the cozy atmosphere. Whether youāre a Blanco regular or just passing through, Deutsch Apple Bakery is a stop worth making. Cash (itās a small-town spot!) Is preferred, credit cards accepted. Be prepared to leave with a bag of goodiesāand maybe an extra apple pecan muffin...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI dropped in here on the way to a state park. I got a lemon bar to eat there and a blackberry bar to go. I asked for water but was told I needed to purchase a $2.50 bottle of water which I did as I was quite dehydrated from the drive even though most places will offer you a courtesy cup if you ask but anywho. I sat to eat the lemon bar and had the blackberry bar in the container the woman at the counter "handed" to me. After looking closely at it, it was apparent it was the "ends" of the blackberry loaf they had baked and I respectfully asked if I could give it back to get one of the much more fresh looking, center pieces. I was told no as my "hands" had already touched it. Keep in mind it never left the container the womans "hands" placed it in. She rudely said all sales are final and that was it. I had also left a small tip at the register prior to this. If that's how they treat their customers that's quite a shame. I would strongly not recommend this...
