Use to love this place.. came here today for brunch but was disappointed when they kept moving our table.. just me and my oversized teddy bear .. food was okay not like before but maybe after covid many things have changed..
(Other 1 ⭐️ reviews note on Poor service as well)
RESPONSE TO OWNER: it’s funny you respond so eloquently.. changing our seats from where we were originally, To a new table then back to supposedly bigger table which was just one small table when a lady sitting by herself (that I later saw leaving the kitchen) was in the same booth down from us with two tables… while my husband is 6’5 400 lbs it made no sense ..
we did not sit at a table for 10 originally. you guys don’t even have that..it would have to be arranged. It was 6 at best (three small tables put together, three chairs and a booth back) I wouldn’t have mind if you guys took one on the tables to connect with another for a different group, makes sense.. but to take two tables and leave us with one when a women sitting by her self in the same both had two? I don’t get it…..
and yes my waffles were extremely soggy and not the quality I’m use to at your restaurant. It’s a shame you guys don’t remember your regulars, I hate to bring up other factors which I refrained from in the original post like skin color ? Hmm. Yes I was upset because your staff seemed unwilling to accommodate us and make us comfortable especially being that my husband is a bigger guy..
I also wonder why you keep calling me rude? When not once was I rude to anyone, not a server, didn’t ask for management, just asked for our food to go because the seating was uncomfortable. You are correct , after 6 years of dining here, even through renovations, I will no longer be a customer. Maybe you should train your staff on how to handle “different” types of customers like how to arrange tables for a plus size couple… if you simply would have put two tables each setting , across the booth, three families could fit and once another couple came while we were waiting for food, that’s all that could fit anyway so the extra table we couldn’t have was useless!!! Read moreImmaculate service and vibes. I went to Anthony’s cheesecake, a family owned restaurant in Bloomfield, for a birthday BRUNCH with friends and our waitress was tremendously friendly, attentive and patient. There was a LOVELY chimichurri sauce that was paired with my dish, which was a garlic shrimp and egg breakfast pupusa (a tortilla stuffed with various toppings; this one in particular was stuffed with beans and cheese) topped with shrimp. The breading on the pupusa was a bit much but overall the dish was good. I also devoured a side of delicious breakfast potatoes which is usually unaccompanied with peppers and onions but which they added, to our immense pleasure. We ordered a diverse assortment of foods including the lump crab, chicken and waffles, cookie butter waffles, a smoked kielbasa and egg skillet, etc. all of which my friends loved!!! Everything was aesthetically pleasing and tasty!!! The staff was VERY accommodating on so many occasions, first with the evolving number of guests and with keeping the food hot for a member of our party. The kitchen was also very accommodating as they allowed certain adjustments that allowed the dish to be vegetarian/pescatarian friendly.I also received a tiramisu cheesecake with a personalized message (happy birthday Sherley) which my waitress took the time to write and decorate which I appreciated greatly. Lastly, Anthony’s demonstrated altruism by collecting food and other items for st.Huberts animal hospital. The donations will go to pets displaced by the hurricane in areas of Puerto Rico and Florida. The setup, as displayed in the pictures, was very nice and heartwarming to see. Lovely service, food and vibes at this restaurant. AND THEY HAVE...
Read moreLet's talk about Anthony's—it's a hidden treasure tucked away like a small hole in the wall, but bursting with delights like cheesecake, cookies, pie, and a full menu of brunch, lunch, and dinner options. It's a real winner, winner chicken dinner situation (seriously!). Their chicken and waffles dish is beyond perfection.
Despite being a regular for years, I have to give a special shoutout after tonight's dinner. We had a group of friends visiting from out of town, and Anthony, the owner, greeted us all with a big grin and hugs, even those he hadn't met before. Anthony's is like the Cheers of Bloomfield—always welcoming, where everybody knows your name.
First off, it's BYOB, which adds to the charm. Now, onto the food: for appetizers, we shared Disco Fries, a Wedge salad with amazing garlic dressing, and sausage and pepper egg rolls—trust me, don't knock it until you've tried it.
For our mains, we indulged in Shrimp with bucatini in Carbonara sauce, Short ribs grilled cheese with a side of pasta salad (really good), the Chicken Giambotta (a delicious chicken cutlet with potatoes and spicy peppers), and of course, the Chicken and waffles with pears and hot honey, served with pasta salad. Anthony even went the extra mile to accommodate my friend with stomach issues by preparing a special meal for her amidst the busy rush.
Phil took the time to walk us through all the desserts in the case, explaining each one in detail. Since we couldn't decide, Anthony generously curated a sampler platter of cheesecakes for us to indulge in. A huge shoutout to the attentive wait staff, and to Anthony and Phil for their exceptional hospitality and the outstanding food they...
