Anyway's is a classy classic American Pub/Eatery. The ambiance is pleasantly relaxing to the eyes with plenty of quality craftsman woodwork both inlaid and as part of the decor throughout the bar and eating area. The woodwork is of fine craftsmanship that sooths yours nerves. There are modern touches to the interior as well, such as inlaid elongated architectural rocks surrounding the fireplace is reminiscent of prairie style modernist architecture and interior design.
The food is pleasantly several notches above what one would expect to find in a Pub/Eatery. The menu items are prepared with the customer in mind. The food is not only delicious and aromatic but their presentation is a pleasing to the eye and compliments the ambiance to deliver a complete enjoyable and surprising dining experience. The fish on menu is obviously fresh and prepared to compliment the establishment and its ambiance. Anyway's apparently has a sister restaurant in Oakbrook Terrace, I, however, have not been there. The Bloomingdale location I will recommend without reservations for those looking for a casual place for a meal, to meet friends or to just have some drinks from their well-stocked bar. I would even not hesitate to meet my clients there for a business meal. I believe the guests wouldn't be disappointed and I wouldn't be embarrassed on behalf of the establishment.
I normally would give a pub/eatery three (3) stars, however, overall, Anyway's with its pronounced relaxing ambiance of the exquisite woodwork, the modern inlaid rockwork and the glass/mirrors as part of the decor compliment the great food served with eye pleasing presentations, make Anyway's a great choice for anyone looking for a relaxing restaurant that will pleasantly surprise, in a good way, so...I therefore give Anyway's...
Read moreAtmosphere: Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in the door. The host staff was friendly, the restaurant was bustling with happy friendly energy, there wasn’t a wait for a table in the (clean) dining room. The dim lights and tvs screamed Midwest sports pub.
Service: Javi was a fantastic server. Friendly and prompt. When we ordered the mousse cake we forgot to ask for coffee, so we asked for it when he brought the cake. (I know that can be difficult and a little annoying, but you couldn’t tell one bit) he got the coffee to the table before we even started on the cake.
Kids conveniences: We brought our 2 toddlers and the kids menu offers some great favorites like grilled cheese and chicken strips. The high chair was clean and the booth we were sat at was perfect for corralling an active 2 year old who is too big for a highchair.
Food: we had a burger and the beer battered shrimp. Overall everything was delicious. The shrimp was crispy, the cilantro/lime rice was good (my husband said he’d like more lime on it, but I liked it) we ordered the burger medium and it came probably a little closer to medium rare, but for us, that’s perfect. (Photo) we also had the French fries, Cole slaw, the wings (half bbq for the kids half buffalo), the mousse cake and the coffee. Everything was so good. We literally had no leftovers and did not need boxes.
We will absolutely be back to try some of the other things we saw on the menu.
Thank you for a great...
Read moreI started going to the Oak Brook location back in 2006 when I moved to Elmhurst. It used to be my bar. I held my rehearsal dinner there for my wedding and they were very accommodating as everyone showed up very late. The rehearsal dinner was a disaster due to my late * family, but not due to Anyways... lol.
Now that I am further west, I go to the Bloomingdale location. I don't drink anymore, but consistently good strong drinks. This THE place we go for late night and we often go for dinner. Dine in & carry out both consistently good and they are so nice about customizing your food the way you want it. I also really enjoy their monthly specials that give regulars a little variety.
My only 2 criticisms of this place:
dessert is not good for the price and quality. I sometimes get the key lime pie, but it's expensive for such a tiny slice
I have been going for almost 20 years & see the same manager guy and he never ever recognizes or acknowledges me! Hey management, please reach out & correct this!! 😆😆
Our favorites:
Burgers!! (Hubby gets medium, plain burger w blue cheese only. I get the medium, bistro burger, no tomato. We both get sweet potato fries extra extra crispy!)
Meatloaf
French dip sandwich
Blackened chicken pesto pasta
Cajun pasta with shrimp
Shrimp and avocado salad (not enough shrimp so I add extra for an up charge)
BBQ chicken pizza
