I am loathe to give a place a bad review but I feel obligated to share my disappointment and how I literally got ill. I was so excited about trying Red Pine out. I had heard good things about it and my expectations were high. I've been spoiled by excellent Chinese meals all over: NYC and Kelso, WA had some of the best. I know quality. We ordered 4 items: Cucumber Salad, Duck Scallion Pancakes, Chicken Soup Dumplings and Kung Pao Chicken (extra spicy). The salad tasted good but the cucumbers looked like they were cut up carelessly. Why make it ugly? The duck pancakes didnt have any duck flavor to them. That seemed like a big miss. My wife liked them though. The soup dumplings had no soup in them! What a joke! I almost sent them back but I was trying to be cool about it. Someone should teach the chef what a soup dumpling is. I recommend going to that dumplng place in the mall by CalTech to discover what a soup dumpling is. Last, and least, was the Kung Pao. We asked for max spice. Our waiter didnt warn us that it may be more than is safe. Im no weaking when it comes to hot food: i go hard on the hottest hot sauces. But this was off the charts. I finished a lot of it and was having dopamine rushes. Thats good. But it wasnt really edible like food. It was more of a challange substance. I enjoyed it. However when I got home my body started complaining. First I couldnt get enough water but it tasted funny. Then i could feel my intestines knotting. I suffered mildly, only waking up a few times from it. Then after I woke up and drank coffee my stomach revolted and I tossed up a lot of that heat.
Thats not cool that theyd make something that absolutely hot and not warn people. It was way way too inapproptiately hot for humans in the first place. Im not saying I didnt enjoy it in the first place, but that was literally the limit of what is digestable. At least for me. That wasnt fun to get sick from it. I wont do that again soon.
The drinks were really good. I had a Paper Crane and my wife stole it from me it was so good. They are the only reason I didnt give it a one star.

Read moreThere’s so much to say about Red Pine! Not only do they have THE BEST Chinese food in all of Boca, maybe even better than all of the cities that surround boca, but they also have incredible service and the most beautiful interior design and decor that Ive ever seen in a Chinese restaurant. When you arrive you get a little confused since the restaurant is inside the bank building but once you walk through the lobby you’ll see signs that direct you to the main door. You then walk in and are warmly greeted then you’re met with this beautiful bar set up that looks like they plucked it out of a 5 star resort, you can also notice big window panes that show off the lake and waterfall in the back and they have a few seats if you want to eat outside. Each part of the restaurant has different decor and the room we are in was beautiful the seats were comfortable, the art on the wall was beautiful, and so was our table set up! The waiter came to greet us and since it was our first time there he went over the menu to let us know that most of the main items were shareable family sized plates. We ordered a wonton soup, chicken fried rice, scallion pancakes, mineral water, and Dan Dan noodles with chicken. The food came out quickly first the appetizers and soup came out which were delicious the wontons were amazing. Then our main course came and let me tell you that rice they used was incredible somehow it was light and fluffy almost melted in your mouth and didn’t leave a weigh down feeling in your stomach at the end it was unlike any fried rices I’ve had in the area! The Dan Dan noodles were perfectly spiced and the scallion pancake was the perfect appetizer. All in all our experience was amazing it made for the perfect date, but it also has the perfect professional atmosphere for lunch meetings, business dinners, or just catching up with friends. I will definitely be coming back to...
