Bogota Press Cafe — Restaurant in Bogota

Today October 23, 2025 An associate that was working the cashier register this morning customer service at Bogota Press was very rude and disrespectful Her name is Emily Now I come there a lot not everyday but a lot I live right in the Atwater.

I asked Emily for what I seen on the menu But without the bread. So , after asking her, I told her I don’t want bread so I also asked would this be the same price? She said yes, So then I went on and asked her well. Can I get egg avocado with sauté onions I figure if I’m not getting the bread, why would I pay for bread? This is what I’m thinking in my head. Plus, I figure if you are associate, you should suggest well if you don’t want to pay that, would you like to order it separate you know give me some options. Don’t give me an attitude. so after asking her can I get egg avocado with onions I also asked, but why would I be charged the same if I’m not getting the toast bread She comes back with a nasty sassy attitude. Well, I don’t know that’s the way my manager does it with I’m bothering face expression and hand gestures. So I said, excuse me, young lady did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and you know what she came back and said to me, she said did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed. She has a nasty disposition and a nasty attitude, and she needs to be trained better in order to be working at the front end servicing customers. By the way she walked off and say she wasn’t taking my order and called I guess her manager and was saying I was a nasty customer which was lies. So the Cooking cam over asking what’s going on and I told him what happened and ask to take my order told him I no longer want to order asked him what’s the manager name And what was her name. He told me and also said do I be rude to you I said of course NOT I mean really never seen him outside of the kitchen I said Thanks for coming over to see what was the issue and a nice day. I absolutely live for scoping out local coffee spots when I’m out of town and when I was visiting family for a wedding, I saw that Bogota Press was right near where I would be so I decided to leave a little early to pop in. The vibes are great, the place is super clean and organized, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

On to the coffee - I love a good iced Pistachio Latte and I love it even more when they taste like Pistachio ice cream but they’re hard to come by. The flavor is either very faint or they taste like chemicals - neither of which I enjoy. I ordered an iced Oat Milk Pistachio Latte, and when I saw the barista making it, I noticed that they put another base or liquid in beside the espresso, syrup and the oat milk. I was curious but quickly forgot about it when I got my drink because I had to run out. Usually I’m not a fan of Monin’s Pistachio syrup so I was skeptical but when I took the first sip, I fell in love. It was exactly the flavor I was looking for, so much that I thought about it all day and on my way home later that afternoon I called the cafe to ask the barista what they put in it because I had Monin Pistachio before and this was not just that. It turns out that they add pistachio milk along with the oat milk and it was heaven! I couldn’t wait to get here and I was not disappointed one bit. I love the space and that light is all around from outside but still feels quaint and comfortable. The morning manager Mike was very personable and assisted me in deciding what to get because there was so many awesome options, I couldn’t decide. I landed on the TAT avocado toast with an egg over easy on the side and lavender honey hot tea for my beverage. I’m sitting here typing and eating and my food is all gone. It was fresh and delicious. I’ve already texted a few friends to tell them about it. I’m glad they are here nearby and I will be back! Also, the staff was friendly and courteous. Nice moves, guys and gals! P.S. Sorry I didn’t add a before picture of my meal. I devoured it. lol I guess you have to come in and try it for yourself.

Update 03/15/2025 - I should have been posted this because I’ve been feeling this way for a while but the of size your hot soup cup serving should definitely be double what you now offer for the price. I mean, the soup is good. When I think about soup and a sandwich in the area, I think about Bogota Press but then I think about the serving size and I immediately am defeated by disappointment and I don’t swing by. It’s a shame because a grilled cheese and your tomato basil is a banger combo but that little cup is disrespectful. (imo) At least have a bowl option. Whadaya...
