I have a gluten sensitivity and it’s hard to find places that have a lot of gluten-free options, yet Cloud9 Brewery had lots for me to choose from! Exciting!! The food was overall really flavorful & delicious, And our waitress was very personable.
This is why it was not 5Star rating:
The gluten free bun was Yummy’ it wasn’t hard. The gluten free bun wasn’t ginormous , it was a nice good size! But the downside was the gluten free burger came with NO condiments on it- no mayo, no catsup, no mustard. Nada. I wasn’t told it would be bone dry nor even offered any condiments. Then I had to wait a while before the waitress came back into view, so I could get up and go Ask HER for fry sauce for my hamburger, which I was then charged $.50 for. If I had known I would get charged I would have just asked for mayo, mustard and catsup: very weird to have a dry hamburger with no condiments. All other places fry sauce very is considered a normal condiment.
And the restrooms. Can we talk about those for a bit. Totally grossed me out that There are no sinks to wash your hands at INside the 2 unisex bathrooms. you cannot wash your hands at all before you touch the door handle to exit the restroom. So you KNOW that EVERYONE IS TOUCHING / opening the door inside the restroom, with germy hands.
you then can wash your hands outside of the restroom but you get to see who is gross and NOT washing their hands after using the restroom, EW. That kind ruins the atmosphere. How is this not a health code violation??! Okay rant over.
Here is a the menu - the chicken tortilla soup was flavorful!! The side salad so fresh! The hamburger was delicious other than dry with no condiments. The “fish and chips” isn’t really fish and chips. It should be called “battered & fried fish with a choice of side” since chips is just one of the options of sides… saying fish and chips- sounds like you get fish AND Chips meal plus a side like all the other meals get sides also. But no. You get battered and fried fish, with a side of chips, salad or soup.
We were excited to try the house made root beer and huckleberry cream soda, yet they were out of that. Super sad since it wasn’t near closing time at all on Saturday, to have run out of a beverage...
Read moreWent to this sweet little nanopub last week and was so excited about it that I decided to review it while it was still fresh in my head. I always read other peoples reviews too and was super surprised to hear about the poor service. I am guessing that the owner of this establishment reads the reviews and I think that they are seriously trying to remedy this because our service was stellar! Our waiter was very attentive and informative. He explained the beers on tap and made recommendations. When I ordered my roasted veggie sandwich I was thrilled to learn that there were other options besides fries and iceberg lettuce with dehydrated shredded carrots. Not that there is anything wrong with fries (we love em!) or crappy salads (which, thankfully, is not available at this establishment); it is just lovely to have options! I chose the kale salad and the server warned me that it was smokey and people either really liked it or didn't care for it. My sandwich and salad were amazing as well as my flight (3 dark beers and a pumpkin beer). I will have to say that I would recommend you get a pint vs. flight; because their flights are pretty expensive. (hindsight!) My Husbro ordered the brisket sandwich with fries and said that it was really good; however the coleslaw was a bit too sour for his liking but it didn't keep him from devouring that giant sandwich! And no complaints on the fries either. Their menu is fantastic and fresh! It is so nice to have more than one vegetarian option! Can't wait to go back and try something different. We sat outside and after we left it occurred to us that we never even went in and checked out the pub! That's pretty lame...but it was a beautiful day out and we had a food and beer coma going on so we weren't thinking clearly! Next time we will check out the inside for sure and we will remember to bring a growler so that we can take some of their brew home with us. Give them a shot, we were super...
Read moreVisiting Boise, Idaho for the first time, I arrived ready to explore the craft beer scene. I had heard many great things about the beer in Boise and couldn’t wait to see if it lived up to the hype. One of the first places I got to experience on my first day here was also my first place for dinner in the city: Cloud 9 Brewery, a brewpub located near downtown.
Cloud 9 Brewery is a restaurant just as much as a brewery and some would even argue that the food quality eclipses that of the beer, which is no small feat. The inside of Cloud 9 features two areas for seating, a bar area, and an outdoor patio. The outdoor space is dog friendly and I have been told that they will even serve your dog a bowl of water if you bring him/her with you.
At Cloud 9 Brewery, guests can expect to find about 12 beers on tap at any given time. They rotate the beers frequently, so there is always something new to find. The lineup is mostly ales, but there was one lager on tap when I visited and, most shocking of all, a style of mead! I haven’t seen a house- brewed mead at a brewery in a long time and this one, with its added honey and basil, seemed tailor made to match with the food.
I loved my chicken pesto and quinoa black bean salad when I visited here and I liked the beers almost equally. They had a salted caramel porter on tap when I visited that ranked as my favorite overall if I had to pick one. But I actually found all of the beers about equally good and I loved the attentive service we received.
Boise has a significant beer scene and Cloud 9 Brewery proves that they also know a thing or two about food. Even if you’re not into craft beer, Cloud 9 Brewery is worth visiting just to try one of the sandwiches, appetizers, entrees, or desserts. It’s a brewpub with much to offer, conveniently located close...
