I am sure a lot of this has been said, especially since this place was voted Best of Boise, again, but I just have to post my own review.
I haven't found Mujaddarah in 10 years since I moved out of California and my favorite Lebanese restaurant was there. This rice and lentil dish is one of my very favorite, and not only do they serve it here they make it very well! The only piece of advice that I would give is MORE CARAMELIZED ONIONS! I will definitely be ordering this again and again, albeit with more onions. This dish is to die for!
I also tried the falafel, excellently made AND they offer Tahini sauce and not just the standard Tzadiki sauce which I am not a fan of. Talk about choice and options!
The Tabbouleh was good, could have used a tiny bit more bulgar wheat but overall it was really good!
The Hummus, what can I say. So many places buy their Hummus in a big bag from an outside food manufacturer and you can tell. This place makes it fresh themselves, complete with olive oil (optional but available), paprika and parsley, and you have AMAZING HUMMUS the way it should be!
Overall, the prices were not cheap, it was a bit on the pricey side, but it was totally worth it to me. The packaging and presentation were great, considering I had this delivered, and it came in super fast time considering they are quite a ways away from where I live.
Based on all factors, I give them a 4.8 out of 5 stars, or I rounded up to 5 since fractions aren't allowed.
I will become a regular at this place again and again.
Lastly, their customer service and professionalism is excellent. TWICE I called their staff 2 days in a row to ask questions about the food and options, and despite being busy, they took their time and were patient, answered all of my questions thoroughly and offered to answer more.
I cannot gush enough about the food, this business, and their staff.
KUDOS to the owner, job...
Read moreI was really hopeful about this place based on all the great reviews, sadly though my experience wasn't great. Don't get me wrong, the food here is incredibly good and the food quality is pretty high, but when I ordered food, I asked for the food without onions(I have an allergy, it's really depressing because onions smell so good). The staff stated that the food I had ordered didn't have onions in it. When I got my food, it was served with onions, mixed in the salad. I've had an allergy to onions for a few years and know there are a lot of premade items that staff cannot pick through to make safe for people with allergies, but I was disappointed that the staff told me there weren't onions in items that did clearly have them. I would have easily ordered other items that didn't contain them. I say this not for myself, because I only ate the items I could, but for others who have more severe allergies, this could have ended badly. I would implore you to work with your staff on what the food contains. The wait here was over 20 minutes, which made sense at lunch time and I would highly recommend ordering online before since they offer that as an option. The staff with red hair who brought out our order wasn't very nice when I asked her about angling and umbrella. She said no and concluded with "and that's going to stay right where it is" which I felt a simple "no, Im sorry we can't angle the umbrellas" would have sufficed. It felt inauthentic and kind of rude. I understand that they were busy, but it did make me disappointed overall. This is a place where you go for the food, and not...
Read moreWe have been in to this Mazzah several times before and have made it a Halloween tradition to eat here after trick or treating. After this visit, however, we WILL NOT BE BACK! Michele has ZERO customer service!! She was rude when we ordered, and doesn't even seem to know the menu. We ordered a gyro platter with rice and asked if it came with pita- as that is what the menu says. Michele said no and argued, so we said ok fine how much to add pita, and then she goes oh I think it comes with 3 triangles- let me check... She was short and rude with every other paying customer even though it was not late, but the icing on the cake was when a man ran inside, as he was running she yells at him very loudly that they won't pay if he gets hurt. Then a woman came in with a baby in a stroller to use the restroom. This awful woman Michele accosted her and told her if she's not paying she can't use the restroom. The woman had a baby with her! I understand policy, but this policy was not posted anywhere.. I went and checked! I went and asked Michelle if she was the manager, she said she was not. I then told her that she did not have policy posted anywhere, she interrupted me to say that it was their standard policy. I told her that it was unbelievably rude, the woman had a baby, and that we were paying customers, and we would not ever be back. Michelle's comment was "okay." She could obviously care less about her clientele, customer service, or any repeat business. We will be boycotting this Mazzah and telling all of our...
