My daughter and I went for our usual late lunch. We waited 10 minutes and no one was around. A door dash driver came in & waited with us. I opened and shut the door several times but no one noticed. I peeked into the kitchen and it was empty. Finally a man who turned out to be our waiter walked out of the bathroom tucking in his shirt and it appeared he was hooking his pants. If we hadn't been really hungry and looking forward to my favorite meal I would have left. This time the service was very slow, he got our order wrong so we had to wait for the fix but he acted like he didn't believe he got it wrong. Then after complaining even the manager said the salmon was half the normal size so he had them make another small piece. The waiter forgot our plates, our bread & didn't refill our drinks until I went looking for him each time & asked for all these things. The food was not at all the same. The pasta was dry, sticky and along with the vegetables were covered in so many huge poorly chopped chunks of garlic I could taste nothing else. I get the same thing everytime. It wasn't at all the same. I wish they would let you know when long time regular menu items have recipe changes. I became ill immediately after eating a small amount and I was fine before I ate. I've never had this happen eating it before. Having many allergies I figured they'd changed some thing so we checked. We were told only the extra garlic but there wasn't any sauce like usual either. It was very different than what I'd usually had. I can say the salmon was still pretty good & although smaller and more cooked than usual the brie kisses tasted ok too. In my opinion it was over priced for the poor food and service. We missed the great food and service we used to get. We overheard the new manager wondering what our problem was that he was only a little slow. The waiters we've had before were great. When a certain cook was there the food was great. The others were just ok. But this time the food was horrible. We were regulars but won't...
Read moreFirst, I want to say that all experiences with Smoky Mountain have been amazing up until this occurred. I never write reviews unless the service is wonderful or terrible. By my One Star, review you know which this falls under. My mother-in-law ordered at 4pm for a family gathering. Large order. She called this number for this State street location, and upon the answer gave her address and asked if it was possible to have the food ready by 530pm. They said no problem. She ordered. Two hours later, when the food was 30 minutes late, we called. We were told the driver had “gotten a flat tire” and it would be delivered soon. An hour went by. We called again, we were told that the driver was lost and the food would arrive soon. Finally, at 715pm, I called. The manager (I believe his name was David), got on the phone. He told me my mother-in-law had called the wrong store, and she should have called the store on Parkcenter, so he had forwarded the order to them. So the two reasons for this One Star review? Number one, if a customer gives an address and called the wrong store, it is the restaurants job to get them to the right one. Number two, the employees felt 100% fine LYING to us about why it was late. Not one lie, two lies (btw, please stick to the first lie if you’re going to commit to one in the first place). If we were told the FIRST time, we would have called the right store and this uncomfortable feeling would have been avoided for all parties. An establishment that is okay with lying about flat tires and lost addresses loses all my respect. Poor form. If the customer calls the wrong place, please call back so we have the opportunity to call the right place (another perk is you won’t be having to have these uncomfortable conversations with us, we would call the other location and not bother you any longer). They comped the order which was generous, but only after three calls and being lied to...
Read moreI feel really sad writing this review because up till now I have loved this place. But over the past couple of months since the pandemic started they have been very inconsistent in wearing masks, specifically in the kitchen. I've kind of turned a blind eye to it because I love the pizza. But every time I was in there I would ask how come the kitchen staff wasn't wearing a mask. I was always told that they were supposed to but then nothing really ever happened about it. This last time I was in, there were two people in the kitchen and neither one of them were wearing masks. So I asked the front staff about it and I said I was kind of uncomfortable with the kitchen staff not wearing masks when handling my food. He said they were supposed to be wearing masks and he wasn't sure why they weren't. I asked if the manager reinforced the county-wide mask mandate and he told me that one of those men was the manager. I asked if they could put on the mask when they cut my pizza and the guy went back there and talked to the cook in the back. When he went back there the cook did an annoyed laugh put on his mask and then turned and looked at me and gestured like "you happy now" before he turned around and cut my pizza. If this was a one-time thing I would have just blown it off but it's been consistent over the past several months. We get a pizza about once a week here and my husband and I have decided that we are no longer going to be giving Smoky Mountain our business anymore. We've been trying to support them because we know they're a local business and times are tough right now. But I just cannot deal with the stress of them not wearing masks when they're supposed to be wearing masks and the contempt they have towards me when I ask them if they could just pull up their mask when they're...
