I came here after settling at the hotel for the first night of my Boston stay for a convention, and for months I've been craving for a nice Chicken Parmesan pasta with angel hair ever since hearing the story about Jay Leno's recent fall in Pittsburgh, PA when trying to take a shortcut down a steep hill for his favorite restaurant meal, Chicken Parm. I took this chance on my vacation and phoned up the restaurant and they had everything I had hoped for. I took a seat as I waited with a Cosmopolitan, As I waited I showed them one of the videos from Inside Edition about Jay Leno's fall for Chicken parm which had the example of his dish. One look from the chef and manager were very unimpressed by the dish in the video I showed and the chef was insulted by it so they went to work to prove the superiority of their menu, And this is what I got, Angel hair with marinara sauce topped with chicken parm and more marinara sauce completely covered in mozzarella! Their Garlic bread were also delicious and it was fitting with a glass of whites zinfandel whine! The staff were very talkative too as I was taking photos of my plate assuming I was an influencer for Instagram or such places. I had a great time there! The best Italian I...
Read moreWas in town from Atlanta, and had already visited one of the top rated upscale Italian restaurants in the North End (had Osso Buco... love it!)... but this time was in the mood for a good hearty "red sauce" Italian meal. Due to logistics, I chose Antonio's. I had a good time. The place is very small...maybe 15 or so tables packed in a room the size of a rich lady's walk-in closet. Started off with the Bruschetta... and I have to say it was one of the best I've ever had. The bread was fresh, nicely crisp & not overly garlicky, while the marinated tomatoes were pretty much perfect... not too firm or ripe & nice and juicy. For the main course I had Chicken Parmesan. You can definitely tell the chicken is hand breaded. I sometimes worry I'll get some crappy frozen breaded chicken covered in sauce & cheese, but not here. The chicken was nice and tender... came with a side of penne w/ red sauce. Good Stuff! Their food is not fancy... but it doesn't have to be. The service was decent, although he never came back to see how I was doing... and could have easily sold me another drink (or two) had he simply noticed I was empty... and just asked. No biggie, though. Still, I highly recommend checking...
Read moreNot typically one to write reviews, let alone negative ones, but this one deserves it. Came here for dinner after seeing the great reviews online. Disappointed is such an understatement. We were sat quickly, and soon greeted by our server. We ordered, got drinks (two pepsis), an appetizer, and of course our main courses. Food arrived quickly, and we only saw our server once after to get the check. We had one small glass of pepsi each, never received a refill. Instead, we watched our server sit across the restaurant with the noisiest group of women I’ve ever heard, and joke around with them quite loudly. To the point I couldn’t hear my partner who was sitting a foot in front of me. (There were maybe 3 other tables with very quiet couples and families). Aside from this, our food was quite poor. Nowhere near authentic, incredibly bland and unsavory. For an $80 meal, I expected so much better. Safe to say, I will not return. Maybe I just had a bad experience, but the unprofessional atmosphere and sucky food can’t be a...
