Quoted in a recent Boston magazine article on how big bad evil bicycle is ruining their business, this place is now literally on the record saying if you walk or bike to this establishment they don't want your business. They blame bikes (lol) on declining revenues when if you look at recent reviews it's clear their FOOD has gone down in quality.
I bike commute because it's healthier, faster, and doesn't require me figuring out parking (which has NEVER been easy in Boston). Love it when local businesses don't realize how much local support actually matters. I was literally hit by a truck commuting to work this morning and when bike lanes aren't appropriately connected and protected people DIE and are maimed.
Business doesn't always have to be political but when businesses make a political stance, it's clear where I want to take my money.
Pro car, traffic, and sons of billionaire wannabe politicians who want to increase pedestrian and cyclist deaths on the street every year - go to Big Daddy's. If you like walking, biking, cleaner air, and fewer road deaths every year, take your business to a place that wants your business.
To requote Big Daddy's from the article - "Tell me: Who’s gonna take their pizza home on a bicycle?” - literally me multiple times a month. Nevermind the times I bike to a...
Read moreWhat makes one local pizza shop better than the other? Well, your first answer might be the quality of food and I would certainly have to agree with that. However, In my opinion the quality of the food is not the determining factor here, it is of course a prerequisite. The reality is that there are MANY local pizza shops, in any given urban area, that have a high quality of food. The real problem lies in the fact that they all seem to have identical menus.
In my opinion, this is where Big Daddy stands out from the pack and has claimed it's rightful throne as THE BEST local pizza shop in it's area. To put it simply they are creative and they know what the people want. Their menu is chock full of unique speciality sandwiches and tasty sides, that stray few and far between the "norm." That's not to say they have forgotten their roots, alongside their special creations are crowd favorites that are made exceptionally well. To top it off, their service is exceptional and they deliver fast. These guys know what they are doing!

Read moreThis place has gone completely downhill! I decided to go there the other night to pick up dinner on my way home from work. I ordered ahead online. I heard that the business had changed ownership so wanted to give it a try. I pulled up and tried to find a parking spot. It is very challenging trying to park now that they have the bike barriers up along Western ave. I ordered a large chicken & broccoli Alfredo calzone with marinara sauce on the side. I also requested utensils. I got home with the food and initially the calzone looked good. It was not cut into any pieces at all. It was one solid piece. When we cut into it the Alfredo sauce started running out of it like water. Right away we could tell this was going to be gross. The chicken was cubed and dry and it was frozen broccoli. The dough was not cooked through. It was like soup inside raw dough with a crust on the outside. I will NEVER EVER go back to this place again!! The only thing decent was the marinara sauce on the side. All this mess for $25 You have been warned I can’t imagine eating anything from this...
