Charlie's Sandwich Shoppe — Restaurant in Boston

Food came out HORRIBLE and the service was even worse to boot I can start with the "lemonade" I was served with no straw as if it's general practice to drink from the side of dirty spoon diners cup but five minutes later after I got my straw and sipped from the yellow liquid that was supposing to be lemonade it was obvious there was no lemon included in the recipe of this syrup based "beverage" that was clearly mixed on site and then sold to some unknowing customer (likely a child who may even find dislike lol) I move to the bacon egg and cheese "sandwich" I ordered with a pleasant young lady but then served to me by a unknown male server (something I find that is bad practice in restaurant service solely based on the fact this person has 0 idea what was ordered or who gets what) I ordered the bacon simply cooked "well" not burnt not crisp just "well"... the first sandwich came out with a pile of bacon barely cooked ANY hidden under two eggs stuck together on the plain bagel by white american cheese I promptly asked my waitress to make my order again and what was served to me was crispy bacon bits setup alot the same as the last just hastily slapped together bacon falling off the sandwich just a mess if you can't get a plain bacon egg and cheese right I question anything else you may serve lastly the older waitress lady there was quite rude about me not wanting my "food" and even after I apologized for their inconvenience she was ignorant enough to respond "whatever" to me under her breath but loud enough to be heard with her bakk to me as she walked away.....tuh won't get my money EVER quick glance at the menu shows they reserve PLENTY rights to themselves in upcharge to the customer but even IT has attitude lol I'm all set YOU'VE...

Very disappointed as my friend was hyping up this place for a couple days. It was off to a bad start from the beginning. We walked in and there were maybe 5-6 tables open but the host was hesitant to sit us down because we were waiting on 2 more people in our party. We still sat down despite her not wanting us to. Then the FIRST thing the server did when we walked in and sat down was snatch my coffee (before even saying hi or giving me a chance to do anything) and said very rudely "no outside drinks" and slammed a crumbled napkin full of 4 sets of silverware on the table. yes that's right. Our silverware was in a pile of 8 just randomly assorted and. appearing slightly dirty, so we asked to get a water so we could clean them. Very very unsanitary. I could only imagine what the kitchen looked like. Ordering was smooth, and restaurant was toasty hot the restrooms were fairly clean, but one of our appetizers was never brought out. We told the server and she insisted very rudely that we never said anything and never ordered them which we all remember doing).but when it was time to pay the bill (which was over $115 for 4 people). we were told that we were UNABLE TO SPLIT THE CHECK and that it was OUR fault for not telling the server at the beginning and specifying that we wanted separate checks. It was a huge mess and everyone was annoyed since it is a huge hassle since we all got different things. The server refused to make separate checks and stated that "it doesn't work like that" Overall, food itself was good (but overpriced) and I would've give this place 4 stars if I had done carryout instead of dining in. not 5 because it was overpriced. The only reason I rated this a 4 * instead of 5* was because the guy that was a waiter/counter person, possibly owners son, was rude and was barking orders to chef and made it an uncomfortable visit. He should try praising Miguel and actually stepping in to help . That being said Miguel was AMAZING and he went above and beyond knockout crazy to make the best breakfast I've had in years. You can see Miguel needs sous chef help out on the floor for all of the incredible amount of takeout orders. Our waitress was charming. ( how do I know Miguel's name? Because he kept barking at him.) The food is incredibly delicious and fresh and truly homemade. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to eat . It was made perfectly by Miguel. The baked beans were incredible I wish I had the recipe. The pancakes look so delicious that we would come back again to sample those. All in all I give this place a 5-star for food, ambience and location. I believe this is an easy fix and I see the owner reads these so I'm sure he will put proper perspective into place.

UPDATE; the next day we went in for breakfast. It was delicious and the person I was talking about was much more friendly and things were more calm even though the place was packed! I think the to-go business is probably what stresses them...
