Worst dining experience I had in Boston. After hearing that Coppa has some great pasta, I recently took a visit for dinner. However, the overall experience was utterly disappointing. We came in with a reservation, and despite my VIP status on Resy, they gave us the worst table at the restaurant. There were clearly three empty tables by the window side, yet they gave those away to Caucasian groups later. There were barely enough space to place my legs, and we were constantly surrounded by people walking as it was a spot with the heaviest foot traffic. I wasn’t looking for a special treatment, but it seemed like the people at the host stand were discriminatory against the only non-caucasian group at the restaurant. I hate to pull out the race card, but this was the first time I’ve felt discriminated throughout hundreds of restaurants I’ve been to in Boston. Their terrible service afterwards also made me confirm my belief that they were discriminatory. Our server who took our order never returned to check on our table and we didn’t get our drinks. Other groups who came much later got their drinks immediately, but we never got ours. Without a single word or an explanation, one of the servers also essentially through the appetizer dishes on our table. They were clearly oblivious to the crumbling customer experience, and until I finally pinned down one of the servers/manager, we had to wait in silence to express our dissatisfaction. We ended up leaving the restaurant as soon as we got the pasta. Their pasta was good, but not as good as the hype. While the manager refused to accept our payment, we eventually paid via their online pickup portal. This experience may not pertain to some groups of people, but based on my numerous dining experiences in Boston, I would highly suggest avoiding this place.

Not a great dining experience. We made a reservation at 5 pm on a Tuesday which is when the restaurant opens. The food took way too long to come out especially since we were one of the only few customers there. The wait itself is forgivable but what wasn’t was the fact that it took 20 mins between the dishes to come out and we only ordered one pasta each. My sister had to stare at me eat for 20 minutes before hers came out. Questionable how this could be because the restaurant had just opened and there seemed to be plenty of staff in the kitchen and servers. For starters, Arancini was not great—tasted a little burnt and lacked sauce. Vongole was very disappointing, strayed way too far from what vongole is supposed to be. Couldn’t tell what the flavor was, a mix of some spice and sweetness from corn underneath the pasta. The savory flavors of clam which is what one would expect when they order a vongole were nowhere to be found. Carbonara was okay, nothing special. There was this clumpy yellow thing which appeared to be from the yolk but other reviews are saying they’re uni? Certainly was not uni. The menu didn’t say that either. The only positive thing I can say about the food is the pasta itself. The noodles were fresh and had good texture. They must’ve made it from scratch given the amount of time it took them….if not…..id be very concerned how they manage to serve any of the customers in reasonable time.

We made a reservation for 5pm, and were one of the first ones to dine at the place as soon as it opened for dinner time. Considering there were only two of us dining inside the restaurant, food took really long to come out (but we saw a lot of take out orders being put out....) Appetizer came out after 25-30 minutes. Then our first pasta dish came out 15 minutes after. It was fine until the second pasta came out another 15 minutes later. When asked when the second dish was coming, our server reminded us that the carbonara takes longer than other dishes and said it would be another minute which turned into 5-7 minutes. By the time my pasta came out, my sister was done with her pasta. Now for the food review: the food was alright. Felt more fusion than authentic. If you are looking for just a good, authentic Italian place, I wouldn't recommend. The vongóle was nothing like a traditional vongóle, the sauce was red, slightly spicy and sweet. Never seen sweet corn in vongóle. Carbonara was also nothing like a traditional carbonara I expected. It was kind of flavorless and the texture was more soupy than cheesy. My impression of the pastas here was as if somebody with no culinary knowledge tried to be creative. Seems like our experience is consistent with the horrible service reviews here. Would not visit again.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Boston, and maybe top 10 all-time. I come to Boston often and will always make sure I can find time for a meal at Coppa.

The restaurant Quaint & cozy. A place where you can go with a group or find yourself perfectly at home at the bar. My choice. At the bar you get to sit near a great mix of locals ( some who have even moved to this area to be near the restaurant ) & tourists seeking out this spot because they've read such excellent things about the chefs & the restaurant. With either group you always strike up a conversation, order based on what you see them snacking on and often share smiles.

The Food The menu seems changes around but they always have awesome staples of meat & cheese that make for a great meal on their own. All the food is core to its italian heritage but always has a unique twist - some interesting harissa sauce or asian spice. It makes for fun discovery of classic dishes made in ways you may not expect.

Favorites : The Passato : It's a hummus that is made of vegetables ( carrot or pumpkin) and is unlike anything I've seen anywhere before. Super yummy. Pastas : I prefer the Sugo & the Cavatelli. These change all the time and you can get small orders so you can try other things and not feel too full. Pizzas : They have a wood oven pizza so these are pretty freakin awesome. I'd recommend just the simple Margherita with toppings of choice. There are some creative ones with eggs or bone marrow for the more adventurous.

Drinks : a great assortment of beers & cocktails compliment the wine list. The bartenders will direct you to the right place.

I highly recommend Coppa! It's the perfect definition of an Enoteca that offers exactly what you would expect in Italian dishes but constant seasonal and...

Wow so small! Not their fault, but tables are so close to each other you get lost in two different conversations... my fiance pasta came out 20 mins after mine.. yeah we were sharing but the table next to us who ordered after us received all three of their pastas before mine. I noticed one of them I ordered so is that why ? Looks like a dish you can whip up in 5 mins no issue! The Oysters were good but they were not chilled at all. It was room temp. Flavor was pleasant but didn't knock your socks off. Presentation as gorgeous though. Just needed to be colder ...The Arancinis were very beautifully presented and prepared, but the tomato sauce underneath was awful!! Metallic salt less, flavorless .. it ruined them. The evoo with the bread was very pleasant. Wasn't bitter like most evoos so that was uplifting. The server took the wine list away after we ordered one cocktail to start... We were going to order wine, but it was a no, with the attitude and lack of attention to upselling .. The Gemelli was amazing .. the most flavorful packed dish they have for sure. The meyer lemon was a huge compliment. The Bolo• was flavorless so boring , needs finishing salt, more rustic italian seasoning education needed. The head chef needs to oversee and taste the Cooks food who are recreating the dishes because this restaurant had far more potential then we recieved that evening. Drinks were served cold, fast and beautiful crafted. Dessert...
