I recently had the pleasure of dining at Friendship BBQ, a gem of a restaurant that my friend from Wuhan (China) highly recommended for its authenticity and deliciousness. After trying it three times, I can confidently say it’s one of the best culinary experiences I’ve ever had.
To celebrate my friend’s birthday, we gathered an internationally diverse group of 10, all of whom were enchanted by the exotic and mouthwatering flavors. For many, it was the first time they had tasted such authentic Chinese cuisine, and the food was so good that we practically inhaled it! Every dish was a visual and sensory delight, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The experience was unforgettable.
I also want to highlight the exceptional service we received. Shelley (I hope I’m spelling that right), was incredibly sweet, gentle, and graceful. Despite our group arriving without a reservation, she quickly and calmly made room for us, creating a peaceful and comforting ambiance that set the tone for a wonderful evening. I had the chance to speak with her briefly, and I was touched by how endearing and sweet she was—truly embodying the warmth of Chinese hospitality.
Kevin, our waiter, along with a gentleman with glasses who was busy attending to the kitchen, served us with efficiency and care. The food arrived promptly and was at the perfect temperature for all of us. Kevin was gracious and pleasant throughout the night, and a special moment occurred when my girlfriend spoke to him in Cantonese, adding an exquisite touch to our evening.
Friendship BBQ is a true culinary treasure, offering an authentic and memorable dining experience. Whether you’re familiar with Chinese cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant is a must-visit. I can’t...
Read moreI wasn’t planning to say anything, but I really can’t let this go.
A few days ago, my friends and I went to this restaurant. At first, we just wanted a glass of water, but it took a very long time before anyone came over. During that time, the staff all looked super busy, walking quickly and completely ignoring us, even though we were clearly trying to get their attention. It honestly felt like they were deliberately avoiding us. When someone finally showed up, their attitude was impatient and unfriendly, which made the whole dining experience really uncomfortable.
We ordered the seafood boil, and shortly after eating the shellfish, I started feeling sick. I had stomach pain for the entire day and didn’t feel better until the next day. We asked the staff if there might be something wrong with the food, but they didn’t take any responsibility. They just kept saying, “It’s definitely not the food,” without actually listening or trying to understand our concern. It felt like they just wanted to brush it off and move on.
When it came time to pay, we honestly didn’t want to leave a tip because of the poor service, but we still gave a small amount out of courtesy. Then as we were about to leave, someone actually came after us to ask for more tip? Since when is tipping mandatory?
As an international student, this was a really disappointing and uncomfortable experience. I truly hope the management takes this seriously and makes improvements—especially so that others, particularly international students like us, don’t have to go through...
Read moreI went in with a friend who brought her service dog. They asked us to provide registration. My friend showed them doctor's note which had gotten her into a commercial plane. However, we were denied accommodation, they would not sit us at a table, saying we have to show the registration. Later we found out, the state of MA does not require service dog to be register and certainly does not require people to show the registration to any business. Deny us is discrimination against people with disability. Needless to say, we were turned away, the person in charge never dare to show his/her face, just had a young staff talk to us. We left with a very bad feeling and swear never to eat at the place.
In all the years my friend had the service dog, all the public places including restaurants had been very accommodating . This is the first time she was denied. Shame on the restaurant owner. You guys need to look up the laws before you do...
