Punjab Palace — Restaurant in Boston

Punjab Palace in Allston, MA is quite possibly the best restaurant in all of Boston, and is by far my favorite in 34 years of living in the United States.

The staff are abundantly polite and accommodating, and have never disappointed in maintaining the highest level of customer courtesy and professionalism.

The dining room is cozy but spaced well and offers itself to both casual dining and fine dining. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and guests are treated to an unending torrent of calm, complex, (and not uncomfortably loud,) contemporary Indian music, as well as their highly entertaining music videos. The decorations feel purposeful and sentimental and add much for the eye to ingest.

And finally, the food.

If you are like me, you tend to get the same thing from your favorite spot- there's just something about the level of comfort and pleasure you can get from tasting your favorite meal from your favorite spot.

There are so many insividual dishes on the Punjab Palace menu that would be your favorite at any other restaurant, if only they had the culinary skill. I would absolutely recommend trying it all at least once- you will be surprised by loving what you thought you wouldn't like on numerous occasions.

Their veggie samosas are addictive, no order from Punjab Palace should be without them. Other favorites include saag paneer, lamb vindaloo, chicken channa masala, and paneer kadhai- though there isn't a single menu offering that you should miss if you've got enough time and money.

If you don't have a lot of time or money- take comfort in knowing that the prices at Punjab Palace are on the reasonable-to-cheap side, but because everything is so delicious you could easily run up a large bill by...

I ordered through grubhub, and while being extremely busy, didn't notice my phone ran out of battery. As i turn it on (and there's still about half hour to the estimated delivery time) i recieve a call from grub hub costumer service, that the delivery guy was outside and called me several times but didn't get an answer. I get out - and he is already gone - without waiting for the situation to be resolved through grubhub as he called them for this reason.

Now, why he did not use the door bell is beyond me. I mean isn't this the point of delivery? You deliver it to my address which has the specific info for that reason. Not answering my phone does not mean to leave before trying to actually deliver the food.

As grubhub tried to help, they called them back and told me the delivery will take 15 minutes. At this point i ask to make the food all over again, since i don't want it to be soggy and cold and 50 dollars is a lot of money to get not fresh food. Regardless, the delivery guy shows up 15 minutes later. They try telling me that the food is fresh by proving the delivery statement is printed at a new time, but come on... of course when i open the food it's barely warm thanks of the tin foil wrap, and soggy as i knew it would be.

Why on earth so little effort?? For the only job youre supposed to do. There are many places in Allston, i do not have to buy food from this one ever again. By the way, no one...

Not too bad, but not the best… This is my first order from this place, writing as a chef who cares about the authentic cuisines and love Indian food from and regions

As soon as I ordered my food from DoorDash around 10:30 pm (because I was so hungry and wanted to get the fastest delivery, Punjab Palace was the first option) I wanted to check the reviews and was about to cancel my order. How ever I wanted to give it a chance.

I ordered lamb biryani and it was literally like lamb stew mixed with white rice . No problem , sometimes we have to use some methods to make it work , however there was almost raw onions , not cooked well. The lamb was cooked tender.

Again, not too bad, with a little bit more care it would be better I believe.

It is so easy to complain about the food that we are ordering, without knowing how it is hard to keep the consistency of the flavor. The food needs a little more work for little details, all over I enjoyed my late night dinner.

Lastly , the yogurt sauce was very delicious, most likely the yogurt was house made that took my attention.
