Overall: They serve some of the best Greek food I've ever tried! It can get extremely busy here now that it's gotten popular. It used to be easier to get a table when I first discovered this place in 2020.
Food: I've tried the lamb salad, the bifteki gyro, and the lamb plate with zucchini chips. Everything was delicious. The pitas are the perfect softness, not fluffy or crisp if that's what you like though. The lamb is tender with a nice sear. Note that lamb in general is a bit gamey, so make sure you get a good sauce if you don't like the natural taste. The spicy feta was really good, just a mild to moderate amount of heat, good for someone like me who enjoys spicy food but can't handle it when it's too hot. The tzatziki is also a good option for something a little more refreshing instead. The zucchini chips had a thin light crisp layer of batter.
Service: The staff is extremely kind and friendly too. The first two times, they've asked me what I thought of my food as I went to put away the trash and return the food tray. They used to include a mint with your meal but it doesn't seem like they do anymore.
Seating: There are 8 seats along a narrow long table in the middle, 2 small tables along a wall where you might be back to back with someone at the other table on the shared bench, and 5 bar seats along the window. The seats and tables could use a little more care after people have used them. I had to clean off the table and seat because there were leftover bits of food. I haven't seen any staff clean up after people based on the three times I've eaten there, so please extend some courtesy for the next person that sits down by wiping down your area.
Restroom: There is a single restroom and the toilet was dirty, but they can't clean up after everyone who uses it. Otherwise, it was clean.
Final thoughts: I have to come back and try their loukoumades some day, but I'm always full or they run out towards the...
Read moreService is very fast here! The servers are also friendly and willing to explain the menu (won't make fun of you for not being able to say the names of the dishes). They do social distance customers and have plenty of area to wait for your food. You can eat outside or take out your food.
Classic Bifteki: The meat inside this was so flavorful and juicy, I was jealous I didn't order this meat myself. The feta cheese mix was great and not too spicy.
Build your own: I chose the pita with pork and tzatziki sauce. The meat was a little dry but very flavorful. I loved the sauce and if you like cucumbers you should try this sauce. It was so refreshing and went well with all the other flavors. Just in case you aren't aware if you add onions they will be raw, same with the tomato.
Greco Fries: MY FAVORITE FRIES! These were so flavorful and the feta on top made them great. The fries themselves were crispy and had seasoning but weren't too salty. The feta added to the top made it feel less greasy than just eating french fries. 100% will be ordering again!
Yaya's: My favorite donuts! They are made fresh so eat them quickly after ordering or they will get soggy. The chocolate sauce is so delicious, I wish I could buy a bottle of it! I loved the texture that the oreo topping added to the donut bites. I will definitely order this again when I come back!
Kataifi: These were also very crisp and definitely made fresh! The sauce on top was a thick custard that was only slightly sweet so this is a great option if you don't like sweet desserts. I loved the pistachio pieces on top because of both the texture and flavor but it mostly...
Read moreWhen it comes to quick, counter-serve Greek food in Boston, GRECO sets the bar exceptionally high. My friend and I recently popped in for an early dinner and found a spot among the limited indoor seating options. With an urge to sample the variety on offer, we settled on the Mediterranean platter, which boasted all the meat options.
The pork gyro and bifteki were our favorites, bursting with flavorful fatty bits that were simply divine when paired with a dollop of tzatziki or a dash of spicy feta. Though on the petite side, the lamb chop was extraordinarily tender and juicy—a small but mighty delight. While the chicken was relatively unremarkable compared to the other meat options, it was still well-cooked and flavorful.
We finished off our meal with yaya’s loukoumades. At first glance, the combination of hazelnut praline, oreos, and powdered sugar seemed like it could be overwhelming. Yet, these small bites were nothing short of impeccable—crispy and airy, striking the perfect level of sweetness.
For those seeking top-notch Greek fare without the fuss, GRECO is a must-visit. I'm already planning my return trip to get the pork gyro and...
