I'll preface this by saying that I have never written a google review in my entire life. However, this was genuinely the worst haircut I have ever had. I got my hair cut by Carol at the end of June. I asked for a layered haircut with my bangs trimmed. When I washed my hair a few days after the cut, I realized the left side of my face was completely uneven from the right. There was a CHUNK of hair on the left side that was cut way too short (see pictures). It is actually ridiculous that I was even allowed to leave the salon the first time without being notified of this. I went in a few days later to get it fixed by Carol, who proceeds to cut off MORE of the overall length of my hair, saying that it might fix the overall uneven-ness of my hair. At one point, another stylist came and started cutting off more hair trying to "even out" both sides. I spent an additional 1.5 hours in the chair and left with hair that was 1) way shorter than what I asked for and 2) literally looked like someone took a knife to the left side of my hair and cut off an entire chunk. To be honest, my intuition is that everyone in the salon knew that the haircut was terrible; I called a few hours later to request a refund, and they immediately knew who I was. Now, almost a month later, I'm trying to grow up my hair but it still looks awful — this is a large part of the reason why I am writing this review in the first place, because every time I look in the mirror, it makes me cringe. It is frankly just embarrassing to walk around with my hair down. If I wanted my hair to look like this, I could have asked my friends to cut it with their eyes closed. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this salon and the service provided.

I’ve been to Safar a few times with different stylists (they’re all great), and last week was my first time with Horacio. And WOW! I have never felt so listened to by a hair stylist. He went above and beyond in doing what was best for my hair and giving me exactly what I wanted without adding any extra costs. I have a lot of hair, and hair stylists sometimes have to rush towards the end of my appointment, but Horacio was in no rush and took his time to give my hair the care that it desperately needed. He also was such an educator, I learned so much about my hair that I should’ve learned years ago — how often to wash, what products to use, when to use which products, long term maintenance, etc. At the beginning of the appointment, I showed him pictures of what I had in mind, he explained his thought process/vision, and I put trust in him to execute. It came out so much better than I could’ve imagined! Horacio was also such a kind soul and so genuine, I can’t wait to catch up with him at my next appointment. If you’re debating going to Safar or which stylist, I know that Horacio will not disappoint!

I first started coming to Safar during covid and i always feel safe and protected everytime and have gone back multiple times since. Omid Maxey is my stylist and he's done such a wonderful job with my hair each time i see him. He has such a good eye and can just tell what your hair needs by looking at you; he always takes your feedback into consideration and my hair ends up better than i expect or want everytime. The consummate professional and ambassador for Safar and he always takes care of his clients every time you see him. I would give Omid and Safar more than 5 stars if I could! Have even referred my friends to see him as well. Your hair will love him and highly recommend him!

After my nightmare experience at Jessa Mando, I was honestly terrified to try another salon. But I'm so glad I gave Safar Boston a chance, because Julie completely restored my faith in what a haircut experience should be.

From the moment I walked in, I was treated with respect and kindness. Julie took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted, confirmed the services I was booking, and made sure I was comfortable with the price before we even began. There were no hidden fees, no pressure tactics, and absolutely no surprises at checkout.

Julie is an absolute artist. She worked carefully and thoughtfully on my hair, checking in with me throughout the process. Her technique was flawless, and the final result was beyond what I could have imagined. I have never been treated as good as I was treated by her. The difference between Julie's professionalism and care compared to the exploitative, unprofessional behavior at Jessa Mando is night and day.

Where Jessa Mando made me feel scammed and disrespected, Safar Boston made me feel valued as a client. , Julie's expertise truly shone. This is what a salon experience should be: transparent, skilled, and genuinely caring.

I cannot recommend Safar Boston and Julie highly enough. If you're looking for an honest, talented stylist who will treat you with the dignity you deserve, this is the place to go. Thank you, Julie, for being everything that other...

I have never cried after a haircut except after my cut on Saturday. I asked for a little bit of length off and to have my layers and curtain bangs cut back in. He (the stylist) cut off much more than we talked about and gave me the CHOPPIEST bangs and layers I have ever had. When I voiced concerns and asked if we could blend them in a bit more he responded by saying ā€œI think you have an image issue.ā€ which added to my frustration. There is no consistency in the length of my layers and when I asked him if there was anything he could do he blamed my hair part for the way it looks. I also explained pre haircut that I don’t like to style my hair on a day to day basis and at the end of the cut he informed me that it was going to be necessary for me to style my hair to get it to look the way I wanted. All in all I am extremely angered not only because of the haircut I left with but mainly for the lack of respect/ poor treatment I experienced. Not one of my request was met with my haircut and I am now left wearing my hair up and pinned back.

I was extremely disappointed because I’ve been to Safar before with Judy and LOVED my experience. She wasn’t available the day I needed a haircut so I booked with Horacio because he has rave reviews online. Maybe it was an off day for him but I am extremely saddened to have spent the money I did to walk...
