Staff was rude and condescending. Just walked quite a hike back home because staff would not let me in because I was adjusting my shoe when I came in, due to a foot injury that I sustained. Staff was very adamant on “not going back on their decision” to not let me in, despite the fact that I was explaining the situation about my foot and clearly speaking coherently, clearly not inebriated. They assumed that adjusting / taking my shoe on and off meant I was drunk, despite my rational explanation. When I asked what made him make that decision, he told me it was “because I was slurring my speech” despite the fact that I had not yet spoken to him AT ALL prior to the point when he declared that I was not able to come in, only seconds after we entered the bar. I only spoke to him explaining my foot etc after he had said I was not allowed in, unmistakably a decision made just based on the fact that I was adjusting my shoe. When I explained my frustration to them, they told me I was talking “loud” and told me to leave. Very rude, stubborn, and condescending. Clearly not able to take accountability and care more about personal righteousness than maintaining level-headed rationality and necessary humility. Will not be returning to this bar. Very disappointing honestly, as someone with a...
Read moreMy group of friends and I (about 7 people) were waiting outside to be let in when the bouncer came to the door. He was immediately hostile which was strange. He told us first “we’re not able to accommodate large parties” and then closed the door in our faces to go back inside before we could ask any follow up questions. He came back out a few minutes later and said he “checked with the manager and we were good to come in”. We initially stood near the bar for a drink and then noticed a nearby table had opened up. The seven of us were able to squeeze in the corner booth.
The bouncer angrily came over to us and reprimanded us for taking the table that was “not able to accommodate us”. He apologized to the patrons around us and told us that we were “ruining the vibes”. As soon as he left, the other patrons were also shocked at the bouncer’s behavior and said that they did not mind at all that we had sat down near them.
This whole experience was totally bizarre. I have never had an experience like this at any other bar in Boston where a bouncer acts like this.
Overall the inside was interesting and the rest of the staff nice but the behavior of the bouncer was really off putting...
Read moreI originally had a five star stellar review about this place but am changing this to a one star rating on all levels due to the terrible attitudes of the staff. My friend and I went there to have dinner and had a wonderful time until we went to go pay the tab. Come to find out it's cash only and the ATM wasn't letting my friend withdraw money due to exceeding the number of transactions for the day which we were unaware of. We felt terrible and made a deal that if they held onto his ID he would come back the next night to pay for the meal (which he did promptly after work and gave them a $20 tip the next evening) because we are both very honest individuals.. they proceeded to tell him they made bets that he wouldn't be back to pay the tab. WHAT THE HELL KIND OF THING IS THAT TO SAY!? Yes he couldve stiffed you on the tab but he DIDNT! AND YOU PEOPLE HAVE THE NASTY AUDACITY TO SAY THAT!? WE WILL NEVER COME BACK THERE AND TELL ANYONE WE KNOW TO AVOID THAT PRETENTIOUS ESTABLISHMENT OF A HOLE IN THE WALL FOR A RESTAURANT! So much for gratitude in being honest! Nice attitude!! They made him feel so bad about himself by that comment! You staff members behind the bar can go...
