Food was excellent. I come from New York, so I’m naturally comparing this restaurant to Xian Famous Foods, a chain which serves Shanxi cuisine throughout New York City. I have to say, although I love Xian, this place exceeded my expectations. I got the lamb biang biang, the cumin lamb skewers, rou jia mou, which is the lamb burger, and spicy cucumbers. I have zero complaints. The lamb was succulent, the mixture of spices was diverse and aromatic, and the servers were very nice. I didn’t like the fact that they added an automatic gratuity, however, it is my understanding that this restaurant possibly rebranded recently, and given COVID and inflation, I’m okay with it. It is cash only, so bring keep that in mind for your meal and the 15% gratuity. I’ll be back to try that delicious-looking da pan ji, also known as big...

For those of you expecting to have a dining experience as you get in Xi'an streets (China), you will be deeply disappointed. Five of us (two families) visited this place two days ago. Each of us ordered a bowl of noodle and a meat-stuffed pancake (rou-jia-mo). The noodle bowls ($10-12 each) literally have ~10 little pieces of noodle and no meat. The meat-stuffed pancake (rou-jia-mo), while tasty, is way over priced at $6.95. The worst part: they do not even offer ice-water for dining-in customers so that they can sell you bottled water at $2.00 each.
It is apparent that this place has been set up by s few young girls from mainland China to make a quick buck, rather than to give customer an dining experience consistent with the reputation of Xi'an. ...

It has "beef noodle soup" in the name but I say skip it and get one of the biang biang noodles bowls. Lamb is my goto but there's chicken and meatless too.
Portions are massive, sauce is more fragrant than spicy even though it looks hot. Better than Xi'an famous foods in NYC IMO.
Everything else I've had is good too (scallion pancakes, 口水鸡, pickled veg poached fish, beef noodles, etc) but you can't go in this place and not order the biang biang noodles in some form.
Poached fish bowls are actually gigantic and unlike other places I've been to they don't skimp on fish and there's plenty in there.
Oh and...
