I will overall say I am displeased with the experience and customer service I received today. The staff was not as welcoming as I hoped, or helpful unfortunately. I was excited to enjoy the first warm day with a beer after a long days work and take my little puppy on a walk. I was told the brewery was a dog friendly area, so him and I ventured on a nice long walk there. I walked inside to order a beer and then find a seat, I was abruptly approached and told only service dogs were available. I was slightly taken back because the man did not even say hello or ask if he was a service dog. I understand there are rules and regulations and I respect that but the delivery could have been better and more welcoming for a potential customer. I responded with he is my emotional support animal and was prepared with his documents. The man proceeded to say yeah service dogs only. At this point I understood because that was policy so I asked how I could order. I was told he can run my card. I have only been here one other time and do not know what they have on the menu, nor are there barcodes on the tables or people walking around to service others and it was very packed. So I then proceeded to ask how do I order, and is there a menu that I can reference because I’m not sure what you have to offer. He gave me a menu and said I can flag someone down. When I tell you this was a challenge. I was sitting trying to get someone, I then awkwardly ask the person picking up glasses if I could please order from him and he said I needed to go inside. Then realized I had a dog and took my card. There were not enough people to flag to take orders but the manger was so kind to approach me and say I had to put my dog on the ground. At this time my dog was serving his medical purpose due to the the state this situation and environment had created for me. I rapidly finished my beer and left. Disappointed to...
Read moreThe beer was okay but overall I found the whole vibe and our interaction with the manager more than a bit depressing. We picked this place for a meeting and because it was dog friendly. As we were trying to order the manager came up and said that we could not leave our dog tied up without somebody standing right next to them. The place was empty and my dog was lying down 5 feet away tied up. This dog is rained as a service dog and would not move from the spot but the manager was very worked up and said it was because a squirrel might run by in the middle of the courtyard and everything would get pulled over by the dog because it was big. Everyone in our party was more than a bit confused by the statement and how it was delivered . We let it go and proceed to have are meeting but the manager kept cleaning around us and giving us the stink eye when near. I thought it the way they where act was crazy and even funny because strangers kept coming over to ask if they could pet the dog while this was going on. eventually the other people in our group got upset by this manager so we move across the courtyard and order from another business. It's called the Koji Club and they where wonderfull. In every way it was so much better and they where super nice. It take some serious issues to get me to move from anything let alone a beer garden but Notch Brewing wins this time. Plan to visit the koji club again. They weren't even open but asked why we move over and then offer to serve us afterwards. So...
Read moreI wanted to come in after riding my bike around the city on Friday afternoon. I rode through the entrance into the courtyard, dismounted and walked the bike towards a bench to go and order. There were about three people at the benches, all seemed friendly. At this point, the person in charge practically ran out and with utmost concern told me that there's no riding in the courtyard. This is while I was standing next to a parked bike. Before I could say anything or try to understand what I was doing wrong, the person scurried back inside.
The whole thing was so bizarre and dramatic, that I turned around and left to avoid further triggering the scared employee. There were no anti-bike signs, but if bikes are a concern you should really put them out front and center.
Anyways, my only guess is that either there is an innate problem with bicycles, or the person mistook my folding Brompton bike for a BMX and thought I was about to start pulling tricks in the courtyard. But I'll never know, since there was no communication.
The bottom line is that the whole experience was weird and unfriendly, and totally not worth the trouble...
